An aircraft carrier battle group is headed for the Persian Gulf, and there is already another carrier battle group in place. A Gulf of Tonkin type incident will occur, giving Bush the greenlight to attack Iran prior to leaving office, making it nearly impossible for Obama to govern, and bogging the US down in another unwinnable quagmire. 2. The thing that you don't understand is that your scenario is totally possible still.....

Do I think that is going to happen at this time? NO.... But it is possible, given the fact that the Bush crime critters know that they may face war crimes charges in the future.

Yes, the predictors of "same as yesterday, nothing historic ever happens" get to 'prove' how right they are most days. Until one day something historic happens. (How intellectually honest.)

The idea that we might go to war with Iran is far from 'absurd'. Is it going to happen tomorrow? Who knows? Why are you so convinced that it won't happen? What makes you the foreign policy expert? No one knows what will happen tomorrow. No one knows what might occur whether they are conspiracies or spontaneous and open foreign policy events.

Personally, I think the people who think there are no dirty backroom politics or constructed scenarios are the ones who are really outside reality. But whatever, if it makes you feel intellectually superior to say 'war with Iran won't happen' because it hasn't yet, feel free.
