Politico is at it again, breaking more intriguing news related to Iowa 5th District Congressman Steve King. There’s a report today that King finds it “bizarre” that President-elect Barack Obama will use his middle name Hussein when sworn in Tuesday at the inauguration. King contends Obama avoided using his middle name when on the campaign trail, now he wants to bring it out of mothballs.
King isn’t buying Obama’s explanation of five weeks ago that he’s just following historical precedent of other presidents using their full names when being sworn in. “Whatever his reasons are, the one he gave us could not be the reason,” King told Politico.
The full name Barack Hussein Obama is used at times by Obama critics on talk radio as a pejorative (Understatement of the century).
Of course, King and Obama’s middle name have been a topic before. In March 2008, he predicted there would be “dancing in the streets” by Al-Qaida if Obama won the prez election, since they would see a kindred spirit, given the Hussein middle name. That resulted in an outcry of some saying King had gone too far.
http://www.siouxcityjournal.com/blogs/politically_speaking/?p=721Excuse me, uh yeah, 5th District of Iowa, does Steve King do anything except whine and spout out KKK style rants? Is there some sort of reason why you haven't thrown this guy out yet?
