1. Am I mistaken or did he basically
threaten that the troops would be under supplied by april 15th if the congress doesn't give him a clean bill? And it's our fault he's vetoing funds?

2. "Democrats have sent their message, now it's time to send their money"
What an arrogant prick.

He surely is not used to playing this game with a Congress that is not under his thumb.

5. The spin is that the Dems didn't fund the troops
so when he vetoes it it will appear to the faithful that their Dear Leader is protecting the troops.

and you didn't thick it could get any more bizarro.

Funding the troops is now NOT funding the troops

13. I knew that's exactly what he'd say. Didn't everyone?
Edited on Fri Mar-23-07 01:28 PM by Kagemusha
Bush did not promise he would not veto not funding the troops on the terms he wants.

(and that is more :sarcasm:)

(Edit: That's not full Bizarro Superman-ese apparently. I gave it another stab on another thread, heh.)

7. Pet spending projects...
we need to bust this open. Someone (H2OMAN?) posted about the bill the other night, and I remember reading that the original bill called for something like $90 billion, and the Dems approved $124 Billion.. with the extra to be spent renovating military hospitals, V.A.'s and providing treatment and relief for injured troops and their families.

I dont know how to search for the particular post in question, but it would be a great talking point.. If Bush vetoes this bill, he is screwing the troops and showing he doesn't CARE what happens to them once they are sent to fight in HIS war.

12. Here's what I don't get...
they keep crying about how we don't understand how much "progress"they are making (steady progress is the term they use)...but if that's true, then wouldn't it be reasonable to assume that in 17 months things would be stable enough for us to leave? So why is a withdrawal by Aug. 2008 so distasteful to them?
