12. I said yes on both but I only go there rarely
and I drive my Honda scooter 1/2 the year and my lexus suv with snow tires for 4-5 months. And when I go to Wal Mart in my rural area I always bring my canvas bags like i do at grocery store. The lady starred at my obama one the other day, but didn't say a word.

Domestic companies don't have scooters that i know of nor a decent car. When they start making something better maybe I will get it.

Sears, K Mart and Best Buy. I was afraid of Circuit City going under(and it did). Sears and Kmart were more expensive and didn't have what I wanted in stock. Best Buy was way out of line with price.

The economy is tough right now, for everyone, but Walmart is about as anti-union, anti-minority, and just plain anti-America as they come. Can't bring myself to walk in those doors.

21. I know what you mean but I don't think they will miss us
One day a few years ago I was having a coffee at McDonalds at the front of the store. I started talking to this old guy about how busy they are and he told me that 1000 or more people enter the store every hour. I didn't believe him so I sat there and counted somewhere close to 200 people in 6 minutes entered, times ten that's nearly 2000.

43. Beware of cheap prices; you usually get what you pay for.
In the case of WalPuke, they usually have the manufacturer alter their product in some way to make it cheaper to produce.

We found out about that when we bought an MTD mower there. MTD is a good brand so we thought we had a bargain. NOT. After a few cuttings the thing stopped working. We took it to an authorized service dealer who told us a part in the carburetor had broken and it wasn't covered by the warranty because it was made of PLASTIC. Dozens of these broken mowers had already come into his shop.

Hope you have better luck with your TV.

37. At what point in my brief post did you manage to assume that I'm not hurting financially?
Edited on Sun Jan-18-09 09:49 PM by asdjrocky
Clueless? Maybe you should go to Walmart and buy one. Here's an idea for the clueless, if more people would get one and stop going to Walmart many of us would not be hurting. Walmart hurts Unions, hurts America and hurts Americans. I'm not even talking about what they do to the rest of the world and the environment.

And by the way, I am hurting and I've fucking been hurting. I've been out of work for more than a year now and I'm living in my old family house with my sister and my bil. I've put more than 50 resumes out there and nothing so far. I do odd jobs and collect cans from around my neighborhood for extra money and no matter how broke I am, you won't catch me buying donuts for free from that place.

I like a cold beer now and again, but if I had no beer on a hot day and someone offered me a Coors, I'd have to pass. It's called principals.

You my friend, define clueless by pretending to know someone and something that you don't. Have a nice day.

edited because not only am I poor, but I can't spell

45. In a Global Economy?
Edited on Sun Jan-18-09 10:33 PM by shintao
You have to look outside the box for jobs. I am sure a lot of countrys could use your talents. Do wish you well.

I shop Walmart and ride in a 300 Chrysler Touring I am fond of.

Your never going to shut down Walmart by not shopping there. They can operate stores in your area by taking profits from other successful stores anywhere in the World.

The Union issue and uniting Americans is what is at the heart of this. We need a National Workers Union in America that all Americans support, as a means to fighting back at corporations. As individuals you have no power, that is the facts. United we stand, divided we fall. You may not like socialism, but as it has proved time & again, it is the answer to American woes. Embrace it and kiss the antiunion antiworker corporations goodbye.

This antiunion BS isn't occurring in Germany, because the United Workers wouldn't let them run rough-shod over their people. Lesson learned. And happy shopping at Walmart.

28. In my small town WM is the only place for things such as men's
clothing, men's shoes, baby items, linens, kitchen things such as glasses, cookware, etc. There is only one other store that sells women's clothing. There are only two other stores for groceries.

Go east 25 miles there is a small town, but larger than mine. 50 miles south of that is a real city. West 40 miles, north 65.

Yes we shop at walmart, so all the left-o-maniacs with multiple choices can simply look down their supercilious noses at me. I don't care. If I need a three-pack of fruit-of-the-looms, I am not going to make a 50 mile round trip for them.

34. 2 Fords - both assembled in the US - a couple times a year Walmarting in desperation.
I recently Walmarted. I needed a couple of sweatpants and zip up hoodies for the husband post surgery. He will have 6 months where he will have VERY limited movement and "regular" clothes are going to really adversely affect his quality of life. We spent more than a month hitting thrift stores (knowing full well those would be foreign made too). We were trying NOT to give our money to Walmart. Target, Kmart had nothing in his size. JCPenney did but wanted $30 for each piece which we cannot afford. I got the Fruit of the Loom ones at walmart for $7 each piece. For $30 at JCPenney or $7 at walmart, either way I was guilty of supporting slave labor in some third world country.

I HATE HATE HATE buying clothing.
