He is the "decider" and I contemplate.

I taught U.S.History in public high schools for over 25 years. He tried to destroy everything that I praised.

Yes, my hatred for him is destructive. Not of him, but of me. I must let this go.
I heard and saw Olbermann discuss 8 years in 9 minutes..let him carry on.
I read a number of outstanding writers write eloquently for punishment of those who broke the law and tried to destroy the Constitution.
Let them argue and take the fight forward.
Many here know and speak the truth about Bush, and will continue to do so.
My feelings are too strong,and I hate that sick bastard too much.

There are good and valid reasons to hate certain people for what they've done, what they've destroyed, the ruin they've unleashed upon the whole planet. I've never been one of those people who look shocked and say "Gee, I could never hate anyone." Oh, I certainly could, and have, and do. But more and more I've come to realize that the object of my loathing isn't bothered by it in the least, while it burns a lot of energy for me. So I try to disconnect, and channel that energy into a positive outlet instead. I could stew over what a vile reprehensible sorry excuse for a life-form Sarah Palin is, for instance, or I could spread the word about wolf and whale protection.

I once posted a thread here that asked, in effect, if you had the power to either destroy what you hated or protect what you loved, which would you choose? Assuming the two are somewhat mutually exclusive - i.e. destroying what you hated would not automatically save what you loved. I guess I'll pose the question again in this thread: which would you choose? (Not necessarily you the OP, but "you", collectively.) For me, it's still a tough decision a lot of the time. But when there's only so many resources and so much energy to go around, I think saving what you love takes on a higher priority than destroying what you hate.

Should Obama pursue criminal charges against the Bush administration as it slinks away, hunting them down to the ends of the Earth so they don't get away with it and so justice is served? Or shall he throw his whole energy into rebuilding and reviving the country, bringing us out of the morass, and benefiting the whole planet?

If you could only choose one or the other, which would it be?

What I hate is how and why this happens. And I really hate hate. I've seen people act out of hatred and it's vicious, ugly, and insane.

16. He is a public figure, we all know a lot about him..What we do know

is that he spent his time as President dealing with issues that he thought were important. He did not take time to study and learn about those issues, even if they were life and death issues. He was so arrogant that he was sure that his view was the "right" and "moral" view, that he did not even take time to find out if his appointed head of FEMA was doing an acceptable job. So he says, "Doing a heckava job Brownie." Then fires him the next day because ..well..he wasn't..

..So he didn't even take the time, nor cared to take the time , to sound as if he/ Bush were doing a good job. Brownie was his appointee...That one stands out as how he viewed his job as President, a photo op with Brownie..forget the death, anarchy, and hell that people were going through. ..it was another photo op.

Obviously, later, someone had to tell him what kind of job Brownie was doing..On the fifth day of the crises.

Who is Bush? A dumber than average guy who should have never been put in that position in the first place. Did he do it all maliciously? I don't know. Although, he's certainly not guilt ridden by any means, which even LBJ was. So, even if he didn't set out to make a mess of things, he doesn't seem at all upset.


Bush as a man, is pathetic and not worth bothering about. As a symbol, he was quite dangerous.

21. Carl Jung would say Bush represents the Shadow (or negative) side of the US

And he would also say that until we come to terms with our Shadow side we will never be complete. In archetypal language Bush is the projection (manifestation) of the negative side of our country and it's citizens, practices, issues, etc.

As long as we, as US citizens refuse to see the damage and the danger and the negative side of our policies which impact ourselves and the world in detrimental ways we will never address these issues. If we acknowledge that we have done harm either through inaction, willful ignorance or direct action we will then be prepared to address the wrongs we have done and caused to happen.

Let your hatred be the key to examining your life. Without it perhaps you would not understand the power of unacknowledged harm and destruction. Bush really is the poster boy for all that our country does wrong. It is up to us to address those wrongs.
