My reply to David Gregory and people like him who say..

Over at Crooks and Liars, they link to the Steve Colbert show where David Gregory again defends the work the media did during the march up to the Iraq War.

BULL FUCKING SHIT.

I have said it time and time again - the media did a lousy job and those who did a lousy job should be ashamed of themselves. Some rare people in the media did do a fabulous job, but people like David Gregory should have a special place reserved for them down below.

I mean, I believe I'm a reasonably intelligent person and any reasonably intelligent person knew the march to the Iraq War was built on misinformation, lies and complete bullshit. Not only that, people who read the right sources and listened to the right people KNEW this all along.

How many people besides I screamed at Colin Powell's performance before the UN?

So David Gregory, you and your people did not do an adequate job at all. So quit trying to defend it.

2. I remember the Colin Powell thing really well. The press was hands down
buying that crap, they all were. NPR was right there leading the charge. I remember having to read "Smirking Chimp" for McClatchy pieces that were telling the truth.

3. What got me about that whole thing was....
There were a bunch of people with no real interest (and when I say "interest" I mean they wouldn't receive anything of gain for not going to war with Iraq) who made it clear Powell's claims were bullshit and built on terrible intelligence. But what is even sadder is too many people in America were oblivious to them and refused to believe them (the drones, 45 minute Europe attack, the aluminum tubes, et cetera).

7. The worst was the "intercepted" phone call between the Iraqis
that he claimed was some kind of maneuver to outwit the Inspectors. That wouldn't have held up in Traffic Court.

Never the less they all fell into line & the word was "The case was made!"

I'll never forget that as long as I live seeing first hand as it was happening, a deliberate vile move push a bogus war. I knew that only a stupid but shrewd bastard like bush & those other monsters could ever do such a thing.

Any response at all to rightwing media whores
tells their advertisers that you are watching
