Beloved

That's the overwhelming view of Barack Obama that I've heard from black Americans in my community and workplace. Beloved is also the verdict of the vast majority of black icons; celebrities, academics, intellectuals, activists alike who have embraced the man as they would a son or brother.

I had a thought as I watched one black icon speak about Mr. Obama with enthusiasm and affection, that the mere fact of his advancement is enough of an achievement (in and of itself) to embrace him in a way that may have seemed excessive only a few months ago when he was a junior senator from Illinois.

I can envision that the majority of folks who have taken his advancement to heart ( the majority of black Americans who support him - and others) will always hold a special reverence for Mr. Obama because of the singular salient achievement of his election.

Behind all of the accomplishments, and also the faults, shortcomings, and disagreements which even he has said will mark his presidency, there should always be a kind regard for Mr. Obama that most folks reserve for family. The wonderful thing is, he's made it so easy to like him.

Twenty-four hours, or so, away from his swearing in and Barack Obama's already managed to pull more folks behind his presidency than actually voted for him. That ability to connect is a precious quality these days. Twenty-four hours, or so, away from his swearing in and he's already beloved.

3. He's Always Been Underestimated...

...and I count myself among those. When he first ran for Senate in '04, I didn't think he'd survive the primaries...I was wrong. Then when he first announced, while I had a lot of respect for him, I didn't think he'd stand a chance...there'd be something the corporate media would find or he'd stumble on some petty bullshit and fade from the '08 race. It wasn't until the Illinois primary last February that I took a close look...and while I knew this man possesed a special ability to communicate, I could also see he had the organizational skills to match...a rare combination.

It's one thing to campaign for an office, it's a totally different one when it comes to governing. We've witnessed 8 years of a non-stop campaign void of any governance interest or experience. It will be refreshing to see someone who sees Government as a positive, a solution...not a problem.

Being Jewish, I can relate in my own way to how many blacks feel toward Senator Obama. I have a deep pride for many great Jewish entertainers, politicians and scholars...just as I'm sure those with Irish background have for their own as do Hispanics and so on. A little pride isn't such a bad thing. Inversely...when "one of our own" betrays us (Liebermann), the criticism is far more personal and critical.

4. Try not to take Lieber-bush personally. I know of no one who thinks poorly

5. He's Really Fallen...

My late father used to admire the man when he was first elected, and dare I say, I was proud when Al Gore selected him for VP in 2000. While I didn't agree with Joe's "Likudnikness" (supporting Israel's orthodox and right wing parties), I agreed more than not. That obviously came to an end when he voted in favor of invading Iraq and became one of it's loudest cheerleaders...then his dismal performance in the '04 primaries. He was on my shit list long before Ned Lamont came along...what happened after that was just icing on the coffin.

Traitor Joe was supposed to be an "asset" in McCain's plans to win Florida. Sure didn't happen that way. If anything, Joe's stock had fallen so far in the Jewish community he became a liability.

Now he's truly a party of one...irrelevant.

7. The Accumulation

We are Humanity, the accumulating wisdom and stupidity of our ancestors.
We invented languages so that we could help our beloved children find water under the sand of a summer desert and find food under the ice of a frozen winter tundra... but words could also be used to tell our children lies... and so, in our ignorance, we have tossed virgins into volcanoes and worshiped various magic dragons in our ONE sky.

It is time to realize that WE are ALIVE and made of TRUTH, and that OUR WORDS are NOT.
Whatever the Truth is, it is the same for every living thing that has ever existed on earth.
The only difference between our various nations, and the only differences between our various religions are their LIES... Lies that NO FATHER wants inflicted upon their children at gunpoint.
It is time to defend LIFE from the believers of lies, issued to our children by these recently invented nations and these recently invented religions.
It is time to teach the children the Truth about Living Things and allow them to escape the ignorance of our barbaric past.

Life is here to FEED the future of Creation, not to EAT IT.
We are not here to salute flags, worship stones and murder each other to enforce and defend the various lies, made of nothing but WORDS, fabricated by ancient barbaric nations and ancient barbaric religions.

We are Humanity. We are the Creation. We are Alive. We are not a fabrication made of nothing but mere words.

We are here to feed the children, not to eat them.
