What do Jewish DUers think of Tikkun?
I came across a magazine called Tikkun the other day while picking up a progressive mag. It seemed like a progressive mag, do any DUers know about it?

1. It's been around for years and years...
It's founder, Michael Lerner, is now a Rabbi in the Jewish Renewal movement. He was an adviser to Hillary C., back when her husband was President.

Generally, I'm all for it! Haven't read a copy in awhile, though...

5. Just so long as you don't put an eye out.
Yes, that's a non-sequitor.

10. There are actually two of us here?!
Ours in Honolulu is so small, I joke that it's a good think we're not Orthodox Jewish, or we'd have trouble getting a minyan!

11. You and Bette Midler? She's from Hawaii.
But she wouldn't count in an Orthodox minyan, since she is female and that doesn't count.

I'm not even Jewish and I know this stuff.

6. I generally like Tikkun
but am more inclined to read things like Heeb (The New Jew Review) because I am twisted and bent.

7. I'm a UU DUer, but I'm familiar with Tikkun, can I answer?
Actually, I've not read the magazine, but I'm familiar with Tikkun because of the Tikkun project Network of Spiritual Progressives. I'd like to see a local chapter up and running. http://www.spiritualprogressives.org/

12. Thanks for reminding me that I want to subscribe to Tikkun.
I've been a fan of Rabbi Lerner's for years and I've been on his e-mail list for years too, but extreme financial constraints prevented me from doing anything else about Tikkun or the Spiritual Progressive movement. Now that things are a LITTLE easier for me (although not much) I want to do what I can.
