Pissed-off Murtha on Situation Room: "This President is always blaming someone else!"
Edited on Fri Mar-23-07 03:13 PM by Hissyspit
LIVE interview now. Angry tone in response to President's comments.

"The President's the person who put us in this spot... but he can't have it all his way. He has to deal with us."

"We're gonna make sure he's accountable. It's our Constitutional duty. He's the one whose policy has forced the commanders to break their own rules." (training and equipment)

Says there will be compromise, but not on Bush's terms.

3. Rep. Murtha speaking very quickly - angry and didn't want to get cut off.
But I think I hit the main points.

4. I heard him on the House floor...
I think he was crying. His voice was shaken and I think getting this passed was a very emotional moment for him. He loves the military. He wants what's best for THEM and he has taken a lot of bullshit because of it.

7. Wolfie looked like the turd he is...
Murtha just plain steamrollered him.

It's a good thing.

8. Thanks for letting us know that. I believe the majority of soldiers...
including active duty realize Murtha truly has their back. In spite of the swiftboat tactics of the other side.

I am glad to see extreme emotions coming out for everyone to see. This polished, everyone-says-the-same-talking-points robotic atmosphere since God only knows when has grown very, very thin. Especially since the lies have become unbelievably blatant these last six years. I know it's not the accepted thing nowadays - to be transparent, even with one's emotions - but I find it refreshing. Hopefully it also indicates that they (the Dems) know they are close to making this WH crumble.

Senatory Leahy was very emotional yesterday. I'd like to see more "in your face," here's how I feel, no holds barred interactions to convey the gravity of the situation.

9. Murtha is fired up! And he mentions other details that tend to fall
off the MSM radar quickly, like Bush* pressing the army for more troops and the generals sending back soldiers that aren't medically ready to return to battle or anything else in Iraq.
