Mr. President, we understand your intention to veto the supplemental appropriation, and acknowledge the policy difference. Not withstanding our disagreement. The People's house has spoken that the days of the blank check for a policy that has not worked is over. The House of Representatives does not intend to take up the supplemental appropriation bill again should you veto the legislation or should it be rejected by the other house.

As a conference committee is likely going to be inevitable, we must it the administration insist that the supplemental include benchmarks and a legislated assurance that a draw-down of forces in Iraq begin as we have stated in the the bill. If you are unwilling to compromise on this issue in spite of the fact that it fully funds your supplemental request, the House will not reconsider it voted position.

1. Did Bush actually say he would veto the special war funding bill

...just passed by the house because it contains "pork barrel spending" provisions? It had $124 billion in special spending all of which was requested by him and his administration. Bush is the one porking the bill!:wtf:
