1. Because the Republicans would have them thrown out of the venue or arrested
immediately.

17. Yeah, the Repos tried that at Camp Casey. It drove the freepers crazy, didn't it!
Of course they were arrested when they chained themselves to the gates of the White House.

They have more guts than a lot of so-called progressives, though. They put their money where their mouth is. They put their bodies on the line.

A lot of people talk a good game, but it's all talk.

We need more Code Pinks, not less.

political groups now, and never did we protest against people who were on our side.

The backlash and the division of the Democratic Party handed the election to Nixon

Very few in Congress have changed their minds. I'd rather argue with Democrats at this point, fwiw.

18. Really?
So you'd rather argue with people that are on your side and are working - perhaps slowly, but working - towards what you want, than with people that will only do what they want regardless of what you think?

28. When it comes to the war, yes.
Edited on Fri Mar-23-07 03:50 PM by JackBeck
Most of my family are Republicans, which makes for lovely holidays. Just a few weeks ago, after my nephew's Baptism, they all are touting the meme that we should nuke em and move on. No saving them.

When in comes to Congress, I'd rather have a dialog with my own party when it comes to the war. I've given up on most Republicans because they continue to frame this as The War on Terror and gave a rubber stamp to Bush when they were in power. I won't ever trust them for a long time to come and would rather have a relationship with those who are working for the common good. I have more of a chance changing their minds than I do a Republican's mind. And we have plenty of Democrats who are not on our side, fwiw.

I'll repeat, however, that your "poll" is bullshit. Whatever Code Pink does, it's NOT motivated by either payment from, or love for, Republicans. That's just inflammatory nonsense.

They may be tactical idiots, but their anti-war idealism is sincere.

22. Number 3 is that Code Pink isn't a part of the Democratic Party
anymore than they are a part of the Republican Party. They stand alone in their principles and will protest Democrats as well as Republicans for not doing what they percieve is needed to be done for peace. Since the peace card is in the Democratic Party's court now, this is why they are targetting Democrats. Although I agree they, and we, should be giving equal time to the Republicans as well.

Maybe because there is no hope for the Republicans but since the Democrats are politicians and will sink into the complacent easy chair also, they are the ones the Pink People think need the prodding...to do what we elected them to do.

30. You obviously know nothing about CODEPINK.
If you did, you would know that CODEPINK has been protesting Bush, Cheney and the Republicans for the past seven years.

But I guess that doesn't count?

You would just rather criticize them from the safety of your computer chair.

So the great people of CODEPINK are not supposed to confront the war promoters and enablers in our own party?

39. Ah...they do.
Medea Benjamin unfurled an anti-war banner on the floor of the RNC, heckled/disrupted Bush at a major speech, and heckled/disrupted al-Maliki during his UN speech.

A better question might be, "Why don't people who ask pointed questions, meant to inflame and insult, get their facts straight before they open their uninformed gobs?"
