3. My local precinct cops are probably the very best in San Francisco.
I'd go on teevee for them. Can't say that for other precincts in this town, that's for sure.

Thank you, Taraval Station.

18. Yes, he is. When were they filming here? My cousin had that Catholic schoolgirl thing going
and she and her friends used to go to the shoots and hang out. Apparently, at some point, a flirtation developed and then, developed some more.

lol

I wonder if she even remembers it now. This is a pretty small town, really, and a lot of people come through here. And I just realized that I've never told this to a soul, let alone to her mom, my godmother, or to my mom.

19. Would this be in Northern Cal?
Because my husband and I tape the show everyday (KOFY at 11am) and I watch it when I come home and one day I saw that it was filmed right smack dab where I live (just about). It is now the Mirabel RV Park right off River Road in Sonoma County. We always get jazzed when they filmed up here. How could she ever forget HIM?

20. They were filming in San Francisco. And I guess when you're 16 or17
you're not looking to cement in memories. I've never asked her and now she's an exec with a big family and for all I know, may not even remember her crimes in uniform plaid.

Maybe I should take a family survey or something. Because eventually, you really do run into everyone around here. lol

23. Yes, I see bystanders all the time when they're in the city filming.
But hey, stay tuned, because I've heard that CBS is bringing back a new Streets. I was a bit surprised that they killed Steve Keller off although I never saw that TV movie. I thought that was a huge mistake to do that. Just like in Lassie when little Timmy Martin was not adopted after all while his so-called parents took off to Africa or some other nation. Talk about cold. Wow.

4. Are they underpaid?
This is the reason Mexican police have to be bribed all the time. They don't get paid enough to survive on wages alone.

7. "You think your cops suck?" No.
I'm disappointed at the anti-police attitude around here. Yes there are bad apples but I think some use an incredibly broad brush here to paint ALL LEOs as brutal, misogynist, whatever....it's mostly the psuedo-anarchist crowd.

13. saying "Bad apples" makes it sound so nice and fruity

But you know that other saying: one apple CAN spoil the whole bunch.

And then there's the fact that it's not just rotting organic matter we're talking about, but the lives of human beings.

Nationwide, there are numerous reports of police brutality, corruption and malfeasance. Even in sleepy Tennessee, we have had enough law enforcement scandals this past year alone to keep Hollywood making movies about them for years.

Cops have tremendous power. When they abuse that power it costs lives in many ways. It costs the public's trust. If people want to vent about that, blame the cops themselves, not the people venting.

And your complaint really isn't valid. In five years on DU I would say that most here respect decent cops and will rag on the bad ones.

As it should be.

25. Some people I work with call the cops when they see a homeless person nearby.
I go out and wake them up and tell them to leave before some twit calls the police. You know, like yeah, these people "want" to be homeless. But karama's a bitch so they'd better be careful 'cause the scales are gonna tip someday.
