Everything. Every American. But were they blackmailing Congress and the Press into submission? We have always suspected as much.

Mr. Tice will be on KO tomorrow. I am sure there is more to learn.

2. That was my first thought too when he talked about it
how easily they caved to bush on everything. Were they blackmailed? Were they threatened?

4. It would be great if KO could open up Mr. Tice to questions from the netroots too
There are many here and all over the leftwing blogosphere who would love to have their questions answered.

Stay safe Mr. Tice - BFEE is out of power but the tentacles are long.

5. I don't doubt they did this. But how did they sift through it all?
That's the biggest problem I see, is how they could possibly make any use of *that much* data???

Naturally, though, I object, strongly, to the fact (FACT) that all of that data is still available and STORED somewhere, for future sifting. By whoever. For whatever. Whenever.

Just waiting for the super algorithm of the future, no doubt.

Fuckers. And the enablers who enabled them ("we need to be safe! I don't have anything to hide!")

7. Just run it through a filter - use the headers.
They could archive(save) all communications coming from say "the senate" or a large list of emails and phone numbers ... then just a few yes men to search with software for what looks juicy for replay.
Pathetically easy unfortunately.

8. Well, yes. That clearly is easy. And obviously was done
I guess I was asking the question (which really is moot, because I doubt the purpose was anything approaching what they claimed - ie, for "national security" purposes) - how they had planned to mine the data for "terrorism" purposes.

The answer, obviously, is that that was never the intent. Never.

Edited on Wed Jan-21-09 09:20 PM by spanone
without impeachment power the house is pretty lame to reign in any rogue administration

why would pelosi come into office and announce that early on....why? one must ask.

12. Why? It's so obvious. We wear tin-foil hats, doncha know?
It's so tiring being right so often. I'd rather be wrong about most things.

11. I hope he's not flying to the studio.
I think there will be overwelming examples of BushCo crimes before this is over. Sy Hersh has a few on the hook too.
