I always hoped bush would succeed in helping America somehow, but he NEVER did. All he did was fail, no matter how hard rush hoped he wouldn't.

I just don't understand how any American today - given our situation and living through the last 8 years - can even listen and think Rush is speaking for them.

I really would like to understand why people like Rush and the people that listen to the Rush's and the Hannity's and the Coulter's, and their ilk - think the way they do. Do they really think they are good American's? Do they really believe the stuff they spew?

Really - I just would like to sit down with a Repug now and try and understand why they believe what they do. I just don't understand them. I would like for them to explain their beliefs.

I have a friend that has 4 kids - two boys in college, 1 girl in high school and one going to high school next year. His struggling business finally went under because of this economic crisis over a year ago. For the first time he had to go out and get a job - which his independent and procrastinating management style just doesn't agree with. The wife has become a substitute teacher - to help raise some money for the family. In all ways - you would think this guy would be a staunch Dem. But he isn't. He's a card carrying Repug that watches Fox News and listens to Rush and he buys into their swill - hook, line and sinker. I just don't understand why he does or how he could - given his situation.

I really would like to get into his head and understand.

2. I know a lady who puts fingers in her ears when I criticize rush

She literally puts her fingers in her ears, the sweetest, kindest lady you'd ever want to meet, but she listens to rush religiously, attends a Unitarian church, loves to go to psychic fairs, but loves rush. I just can't get into her head.

3. I know a woman like that

She's a highly intelligent PhD, a vegetarian, wears clothing only of natural organic fibers, loves animals (has a houseful of dogs) and is generally a very sweet, kind person.

But my Gods, she can't live without listening to that hardcore pedophile junkie every day. She hangs on his every word, and she quotes him often.

It baffles me.
