Helen Thomas, "The time has come to proclaim an end to petty grievances and false promises,
"recriminations and worn-out dogmas that have long strangled our politics.' Republican Sens. David Vitter of Louisiana and Jim DeMint of South Carolina. Has no one read an American newspaper to either of you lately?

http://www.commondreams.org/view/2009/01/21-2

And a quick *You Have To Be Fucking Joking* to all knuckle dragging/heels digging in kicking & screaming republicans John

Cornyn said he wanted "a full and open debate and an up-or-down vote on Sen. Clinton's nomination." He said important questions remain unanswered concerning the foundation headed by former President Bill Clinton "and its acceptance of donations from foreign entities. Transparency transcends partisan politics and the American people deserve to know more."

Cornyn's spokesman Kevin McLaughlin said the senator is not trying to block her confirmation, but is seeking more debate about the donations.

Cornyn, R-Texas in particular; these their ilk carry on so about transparency without ever understanding they are themselves as transparent as a pane of filthy window glass END IT!!

6. Sure, and if someone treated his mom like he did Helen bush would go start a war on them...
The bush admin wasn't just rubbing the world's nose in Bush family arrogance, they were rubbing ours. I'm sitting here watching a dvr of Daily Show with Helicopter 1 taking off with that 8yr nightmare in it flying away...and I'm glad America is the nation that it is,

7. I agree with Helen--it was tough, anti-Bushwhack speech.
And I'm wondering now about this, which Helen quotes at the end...

"For those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you." --Barack Obama

Did he mean the Bush junta? Who, more than this junta, advanced their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents? One million innocents slaughtered in Iraq, to get their oil. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld.

Our spirit--the spirit of the American people, who long for peace and justice--"is stronger" than these horrible, illegitimate leaders. That I firmly believe. It could not be broken, no matter how hard they tried. "They cannot outlast us." Well, we will see about that. (Throw Diebold, ES&S and all these 'TRADE SECRET' voting machines into 'Boston Harbor' NOW!). "We will defeat you." I'm not so sure they are defeated. We must be vigilant. We must repair and rebuild our democratic institutions. They could easily--EASILY--reverse this progress, with rightwing corporations still controlling the 'TRADE SECRET' code, and after they pummel Obama with the corpo/fascist media, and their mind-boggling thievery sends us into meltdown, with food riots and civil disorder and the inability of the center-left to govern (shades of Germany, early 1930s).

Probably most people thought he meant "suicide bombers" and "Islamic terrorists." I'm not sure that he did. For all the innocents they've killed, they come nowhere near the genocide of the Bushwhacks. And Israel is getting up there, too, with a high body count, many of them children and other innocents.

"...those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents..."

Who is most guilty of this? It would be consistent with the rest of his speech--which was a point by point dissection of Bushwhack wrongs--for this, too, to be aimed at them.

8. I like your take on the passage; my sense is that it was fashioned for our...
foreign enemies as a practical matter; but that 'the matter' is further clear/clear as a clarion call, clear as a ship's bell...the passage contains sufficient repudiation *of all America's enemies* foreign *AND* domestic and of that there can be no doubt that the domestic enemies of these United States of America enshrined themselves within what you've rightly identified as the 12 years and only very-very recently stopped counting: Bush Junta
