When does the right-wing blow-back begin?
I would call it a backlash, but I have copyrights on that one.

So, how long before they begin their insurrection? You can feel the pressure-cooker, can't you? Right now, they don't know how to reinvent themselves. They can't, really, without accepting the fact they were wrong. So, I suspect the following will happen:

(1) An event will occur and instead of rallying as Americans, the right-wing will rise to fight again!

(2) They won't wait for an independent event. They will create it.

So, how long before they go on the attack?

The only thing that will slow them down, is if we continue to reveal the truth about the Bush years, drip by drip, it might pull the rug out from under them.

3. Well, we need to keep them off balance.
I suspect it will be up to the liberal blogs to monitor them.

13. That's if you keep hacking at the head(s) of the thing
we need to knock the legs out from under it (hate radio) then stab the beast in the heart once it's down. So long as the beast is on its feet, it lives to grow more heads.

19. And another would be to bring back the Fairness Doctrine
and enforce the shit out of it.

Bring as many swords to bear on this rampant, festering sore of nutwingism as possible.

4. You know that faint sound when a tea kettle is about to boil...
But there isn't quite enough pressure yet to make it whistle? That's the sound I hear right now.

Transparency. President Barack Hussein Obama has turned the lights back on in Washington DC, and with that one action, cockroaches are scurrying and vampires hissing. The lights are on, and there is nowhere to hide. It will take a few days to get our eyes to focus in this newfound light, but once it does we will be seeing demons everywhere. Once the light has shone down upon them, they must be vanquished.

I cannot fathom these things coming to light without triggering prosecutions. The truth, the light, and the way. It's not just for Jesus anymore:)

16. That is a pattern that will be repeated a million times over.
They will continue to try to discredit us, and we will have to be on our toes, watching for their hijinks, and correcting them with a second oath of office.

14. They are trying to hit the breaks
Cornyn and Kyl and Vitter are fluff

The message this morning was about the military and some mix of how Executive Orders are (suddenly) nothing more than the President's opinion on things

Obama just signed four EO's
-close Gitmo in a year
-no more torture (US ARMY Field Manual)
-set up group to advise on clearing Gitmo
-alMari related (he is not going anywhere-court or otherwise)

Maybe it's time we start cleaning out the military of the GOP junta. I would start with the Air Force.

20. There was this "guest columnist" opinion piece in this morning's Anchorage Daily News
Edited on Thu Jan-22-09 12:44 PM by Blue_In_AK
"With Obama as President Abortion Foes Must Fight On."

http://www.adn.com/opinion/compass/story/663307.html

<snip>

President Bush deserves no small amount of credit for promoting a "culture of life" during his administration. There have been solid pro-life gains in the last eight years. While in Minneapolis last fall, a young man handed me a button. It pictured two men: Samuel Alito and John Roberts. It said simply, "Thanks, W!" Ditto for me.

But all that may be changing. Mr. Obama has promised change and where life is concerned, he may deliver. His appointments so far have shown a distinct anti-life bent.

Mr. Obama promised the first thing he will do as president is to get the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) passed. FOCA would negate every pro-life law that has been passed since 1973 and would be a dream come true for pro-abortion activists. FOCA would remove all parameters placed on abortion in the last 36 years. FOCA would turn the clock back on the right to life and essentially put us back at square one. Congress and Mr. Obama seem poised to carry through.

What is the pro-life community to do? Throw up our hands? Throw in the towel? Not on your life! We must continue to fight the good fight in the courts and in our state legislatures and Congress. Our cause is just and worth fighting for; whether it takes 36years or one 136 years.

We must change not only laws but people's hearts. We must pray, we must educate and we must be ready to help women in crisis. We must continue until everyone in the human race is afforded their God-given right to life. No matter what happens during the Obama presidency, we must be resolute in our in our goal to make America a place where the unborn, the elderly and infirm are protected by law.

:puke: "Distinct anti-life bent"??? Puh-leeze.
