2. Enumerators try to collect census data from addresses where no form was returned.

They're also called census takers. If you're outgoing and find it easy to talk to strangers it can be a decent short term, part time job. If you're really good at it there are similar jobs to be had with survey research firms in their field interviewing operations. I've known many long time field interviewers who started as census enumerators.

went to the library and took the test. It's an easy test, btw. I was told that the soonest they would call anyone was 1 Feb and some calls would go out as late at May 2010. It's supposed to be a 10 wk +/- job.
