1. The story
BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - A Pennsylvania man said he considered it divine providence when a bank error put more than $175,000 in his and his wife's account.

Fifty-year-old Randy Pratt and 36-year-old Melissa Pratt face trial in Columbia County Court on felony theft and conspiracy charges. They waived a preliminary hearing Wednesday.

The trouble started when a $1,772.50 deposit to the Pratts' FNB Bank account showed up as $177,250 last summer. Police say that instead of telling the bank, they withdrew the money, quit their jobs and moved to Florida.

5. LOL. A few years ago, I made a deposit of $3,000
to my checking account. The amount was correct on the receipt, etc.

It showed up as $300,000 the next morning online. I contacted the bank immediately and they reversed it.

Well, someone forgot to send a corrected credit memo to Chase, the original check's payor. The bank re-debited my account $300,000 locking up all my money for two days.

At the time it wasn't funny, it sort of is now.

8. A bank mistakenly deposited $4 million in a friends account
for a few days. When my friend notified the bank, the bank withdrew the 44 mil, but told them to keep the interest that accrued.....about $3000. I wish the bank would do that to me.

14. lol, my credit card was once charged 10,000 instead of 100.00
Thankfully the lady caught it on the spot and got it fixed. I can't believe it went through.

2. I disagree.
God does, just in not as tangible and direct way as one would generally like. Unless it's something along the lines of "It's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of the needle than it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven" sort of thing.

10. That explains the old "Footprints" story
"What about when I see just a single set of footprints in the sand, God?"

"That, my son, is when I was carrying the one."

12. Well, to be perfectly fair
the New Testament not only recommends, but endorses, embezzlement and insider trading. So, you really can't blame the guy.

13. Back in college, my $20 ATM withdrawal revealed $200 in the tray when it opened
At first I thought I hit paydirt, but then I brought it into the bank.

There was a distrought woman on a teller's phone being yelled at by her husband.

She simply forgot to take the money once she did her ATM transactions.
