NPR (aka Neocon radio) watch: Douglas Feith on TOTN.

On Tuesday it was Matt Continenti finding Obama's inauguration speech unintersting, today it's Douglas "Office of Special Plans" Feith there to discuss what Obama should do in foreign policy.

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=99737331

For the record: The US didn't go into Iraq for oil. 'You see, we certainly didn't make any money in Iraq.'

Very clever how he turns the disaster he and Rummy were totally responsible for into proof that we weren't there to lift Iraq's resources. We went into Iraq for humanitarian reasons.

Naturally, Neal Conon didn't challenge any of this.

Included in this discission is Jendayi Frazer, former Bush administration Assistant Secretary for African Affairs, as an expert on Africa. She did a great job with that whole Somalia situation.

I guess, since the Bush administration's foreign policy was such a crashing success, we need the neocons filling up the public airwaves with their wisdom.

Feith just said Iran's regime is a corrupt and unpopular and many Iranians would like to replace them with another one which would respect their rights.

I know the feeling.

1. Iraq not about the oil? I wonder why they wrote that in their position papers then? And didn't make
any money? Ask Dick Cheney's "no bid contract" friends if they made money.
What a lying bastard!

3. They could have Joseph Goebbles on
and they'd just let him go on about how the Jews caused WWII without challenging him.

The host would leave it to the token liberal on the panel to refute him, who would say, 'that's nonsense, you killed 6 million people,' and in typical NPR fashion, Goebbels would be able to filibuster for another 10 minutes and then they'd just leave it there, as an honest difference of opinion.

2. Business as usual for Neal Conan.
He has been their apologist all along. Never a probing question for
any neocon, but nothing but for any democrat.

4. He used the phrase "American Interests" a dozen times. Are those SAND?
Edited on Thu Jan-22-09 03:17 PM by TWiley
He is lying and everyone knows it. Even he does. Hell, the chimp even started talking about the "largest transfer of wealth in the history of the world" where all US $$$ were going to countries who "did not like us very much". This was because of OIL. This argument was used in the public arena to justify and encourage "staying the course" in Iraq.

I felt like calling just to ask..... ok we did it for American Interests. What are those? Sand?

5. If I was that little troll, I'd say close to home. He's got to be on some war crimes
prosecutor's list.

6. OMFG! ATC just had Condi's legal expert John Billinger
on to discuss the ins and outs of Gitmo's detainees.

This is the guy who strong-armed Lord Goldsmith into changing his legal advice to Tony Blair that the invasion of Iraq was legal.

The Daily Mail(sourcewatch):

"On February 11, 2003, as war approached, and with Mr Blair close to panic over the legal fiasco, Goldsmith flew to the White House to meet US National Security Council legal chief, John Bellinger. His message was clear: the US had no legal worries because Congress had already given Mr Bush the power to rule the war legal. In addition it believed there was no need for a second UN resolution. Mr Bellinger later boasted: 'We had a problem with your Attorney General who was telling us it was legally doubtful under international law. We straightened him out."

They didn't mention that little tidbit in their introduction, but who better to talk about Gitmo than one of the idiots who got us into this mess in the first place! Way to go NPR!
