That program was never about stopping terror but about Rove and company
getting, using, and keeping power. ATT put the first taps in Feb. 2001 long
before 9/11 so the idea that "it" was an anti terror program was false from the

All this was absolutely essential to keep us safe, and there were plenty of checks and balances in place that would prevent wholesale harvesting of data on everyone. Tell us, Mr. Rockefeller, tell us if you dare, what your assurances were worth? You either knew and lied or you didn't know and shot your mouth off. Which is it?
