Dear Pubbie Asshole talking to Tweety,
The "I was just following orders" did not work at Nuremberg. So cut the crap and let those who tortured get their just desserts.

Sincerely,

Hepburn

4. He's from Kansas
And that speaks volumes, at least at the time he was re-elected.

Not sure how things are now, but I can't imagine much of a change.

5. Repukes just can not seem to comprehend
that we are NOT AT WAR!!!! We can not hold "prisoners" until the end of "The War On Terror". If they have committed a crime, let us prosecute them and put them in a Federal or Military prison. We have already done that since 9-11. We have tried suspects and put them in prison. I am not sure what the hell George was thinking when he opened Gitmo. It is just a torture center. Kit Bond needs to retire. He is senile and delusional. We still have more people to get rid of in 2010.

11. George wanted unending war because it's profitable to his corporate buddies
There was never going to be an ending to war, especially in Iraq which is the 4th largest oil producer in the world (see link for a list of the top oil producting nations). If the US could control the oil in Iraq it would combine with the US to be the biggest producer of oil. Bigger than Saudi Arabia.

http://perotcharts.com/2008/07/top-15-oil-producing-nations-%E2%80%93-2006/

Neverending war is also profitable to his buddies Blackwater and the Carlyle Group which is the biggest seller of weapons. The Carlyle Group sells weapons to both sides of conflicts thereby ensuring that the wars keep going.

8. At least some of the Germans who "just followed orders" did so
Edited on Thu Jan-22-09 05:20 PM by stopbush
because the price for not doing so was most likely their own execution. Doesn't excuse it, but it explains it.

The people who were just following bush's torture orders faced - at worst - a demotion or the loss of their day job.

In both cases, it takes just a few people to stand up and do the right thing - the HUMAN thing - to make the issuing of such orders politically untenable.
