Question re: Caroline Kennedy's status ...

... last night it was leaked that she was withdrawing herself from consideration for Clinton's Senate seat.

The tubes were buzzing with rumors, when David Gregory is given airtime to say the rumors are not true, that Kennedy was not dropping out and was in fact still Patterson's top pick.

Today Kennedy releases a statement that confirms the early leak.

Does that make Gregory look like a bigger ass?

Will he lose any more credibility?

Or, will his fuck-up be ignored and/or forgiven as a minor mistake?

Dick Gregory wouldn't have been so breathlessly rabid to make sure he got the story out first without confirmation or attribution as that dickward DAVID Gregory was.

Journalists triangulate and veryify stories before reporting them. This Caroline Kennedy thing was a clusterfuck of the highest order.

These people are never held accountable for their repeated mistakes. Witness David Shuster, who was wrong about every damn thing he reported when Fitzgerald was investigating the Plame leak. Wrong about everything.

So, of course, he got his own show.

They're just about worthless. Except for Tweety, KO, and Rachel, I ignore the rest. They all fall into the Pat Buchanan category - that is, they're not worth my time or energy.
