Bill Kristol Column Following Bush's Last Press Conference

In his final news conference, President Bush demonstrated that he's still clueless after all these years.
Ditto for Bill Kristol in his New York Times column on Jan. 19, 2009, an exercise in in cluelessness on steroids.
Kristol lauds Bush for his unwavering, uncritical support for Israel. He may have been "good for the Jews," but he certainly wasn't good for the country when it came to the Middle East. He ignored the so-called peace process for most of his term, and the kind of one-sided blind support he provided for Israel is one of the main reasons the region remains in turmoil
Kristol says Bush is rightly praised for keeping the country safe since 9/11. Why does he forget that 9/11 happened on Bush's watch? Why does he ignore the fact that Bush ignored all the warning signs about 9/11?
He writes that Bush's most impressive achievement was "winning the war in Iraq." Really? So if the war is won, I suppose Kristol would not object to removing all American forces from Iraq tomorrow. More ignorance. He overlooks the fact that more than 4,000 American servicemen and women have died in a totally unnecessary and fraudulent war that has cost the country billions of wasted dollars because of the stupidity and arrogance of the Bush Administration.
Kristol says he has no problem defending most of Bush's illegal and unconstitutional policies of surveillance, interrogation and counterterrorism policies, overlooking the President's sworn oath to defend and uphold the U.S. Constitution...
