It's pretty obvious that the media (in general) are pushovers.

2. Nothing that has happened in the past 10 years exposes the media for what they are

more clearly than their total lack of interest in this story. They are not performing the function we still think they are performing. They aren't even interested in performing it. So much more pernicious than state media in a place like the old USSR, where everyone knew that reporters were not reporters., and that news was not news.
