I Really Need Some DU Help!
Here is the deal, "a relative" of mine in a police officer in Lincoln Park, MI. Recently the citizens passed a millage to provide a pay raise for the Police Department.

Well, instead of that money going where the voters wanted it, the city planner diverted the money elsewhere and now, rather than the officers getting the raise the citizens are paying for, that same city planner, is trying to eliminate their health insurance and take away their holiday pay.

In essence, the city planner is forcing a $15K + pay cut on these officers.

There is a hearing being held tomorrow about this with the mayor and the city council and of course the police department. I would greatly appreciate it if some of you could send an email to the mayor asking him to do as the voters asked, and NOT take away their insurance or holiday pay... Asking him to do the right thing.

The Mayor's name is Frank Vaslo
mayorvaslo@sbcglobal.net

Thanks for your help.

1. People should pass a law giving the mayor parity with the police on holiday pay and insurance.
Whatever the cops get, he gets.

3. The thing is...
The tax payers passed the millage FOR the police department. That is what it was specifically for. The money went elsewhere.

It's complete BS.

4. Do the police there have a union?

If not, they should get together and get a lawyer to represent them.

They are being screwed royally. The citizens are being screwed too if

their money is going somewhere other than what it was intended for.

6. That's what I said.
Actually, I think it's in the works now, but thanks for the suggestion.
