Sen. Rockefeller: NSA may have spied on me
David Edwards and Stephen C. Webster
Alleged NSA spying targeted journalists, raising new questions
http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Rockefeller_NSA_may_have_spied_on_0122.html

Russell Tice has been heard. Loud and Clear.

Following Wednesday's revelation by the former National Security Agency analyst that President Bush's warrantless wiretapping program had spied on everyone, quite contrary to what the administration had claimed, Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) told MSNBC's Chris Matthews on Thursday that he was "quite prepared to believe" the allegations.

He added: "I think they went after anyone they could get -- including me." (video at the bottom of the page)

Tice, during an appearance on MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann the prior evening, proclaimed, "The National Security Agency had access to all Americans' communications -- faxes, phone calls, and their computer communications. It didn't matter whether you were in Kansas, in the middle of the country, and you never made foreign communications at all. They monitored all communications."

"In one of the operations that I was in, we looked at organizations, just supposedly so that we would not target them," Tice told Olbermann. "What I was finding out, though, is that the collection on those organizations was 24/7 and 365 days a year -- and it made no sense. ... I started to investigate that. That's about the time when they came after me to fire me."

3. I heard him ( Rockefeller) say that
"I think they went after anyone they could get - - INCLUDING ME"

It kind of implies that they "got" him.

In other words they have something on him that he is embarrassed about.

Senator Rockefeller, if you will help blow this open and co-operate with the Federal Prosecutors, you can still do a great service for your country despite whatever personal peccadillo's may have been uncovered though ILLEGAL wiretaps. Why not let your co-operation be your legacy as opposed to being a blackmail victim who kept silent?

4. I'm sure they were looking at him. I found that the DOD was
visiting my computer daily in 2006.

Using ICOP I was able to see who was trying to access my computer, and when.

I began to notice the DOD hitting my firewall every day.

Each day by 5:30pm DOD would 'show up', in addition to the regulars from China, Russia and etc.

6. We knew it, Senator. We tried to tell you.
At last, you are prepared to believe it.

We hope you will be prepared now to enforce the myriad laws that have been broken, in order to heal this grievous wound to American law and justice.

Thank you for listening.

18. I also believe they used it to take down Ney, Abramoff and Noe-all involved w elections
to discredit anything they might spill.

On Ney, remember that he passed back channel correspondence from Iran to Rove. A political journalist I know speculated to me that Ney was CIA, why else would a small town boy from Ohio be fluent in Farsi? I often wondered if there was a connection to what Valerie Plame was working on. One giant puzzle of criminal activity and intrigue:

Ex-Congressional Aide: Karl Rove Personally Received (And Ignored) Iranian Peace Offer in 2003

While the Bush administration continues to insist it has no plans to go to war with Iran, the New Yorker magazine is reporting the Pentagon has created a special panel to plan a bombing attack on Iran that could be implemented within 24 hours of getting the go-ahead from President Bush. According to investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, the planning group was established within the office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in recent months.
In response to the report, Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman denied the US was planning to go to war with Iran and said "To suggest anything to the contrary is simply wrong, misleading and mischievous." Whitman went on to say the White House is continuing to address concerns in the region through diplomatic efforts.

This comes against the backdrop of last week's allegation that Bush's chief advisor Karl Rove personally received a copy of a secret offer from the Iranian government to hold negotiations four years ago. The Bush administration decided to ignore the grand bargain offer. Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice recently claimed she had never even seen the document. At the time Iran said it would consider far-reaching compromises on its nuclear program, relations with Hezbollah and Hamas and support for a Palestinian peace agreement with Israel.

Rove's involvement was revealed by an aide to former Republican congressman Bob Ney. The aide, Trita Parsi, said Ney was chosen by the Swiss Ambassador in Tehran to carry the Iranian proposal to the White House because he knew the Ohio Congressman to be the only Farsi-speaking member of Congress and particularly interested in Iran.

-snip
AMY GOODMAN: And he then got this proposal to the man you worked for, Congressmember Ney?

TRITA PARSI: Exactly. I was an advisor to Bob Ney at the time. And Tim met with Bob and handed over the proposal to him. And Bob afterwards sent it to be hand-delivered to the White House to Karl Rove, and Karl Rove called back within two hours, and they had a brief discussion about the proposal.

AMY GOODMAN: And what did Karl Rove say?

TRITA PARSI: Well, he basically said that it was an intriguing proposal. He first wanted to know if it authentic, and the congressman assured him that it was, according to what the Swiss ambassador had said. And we have to remember, the Swiss ambassador would not be handing over proposals to the United States unless they were authentic. The Swiss ambassador’s work has been requested by the US, not by the Iranians. So he is basically fulfilling a mission that has been given to him by the United States.

-snip

AMY GOODMAN: What has Ney said about this -- I mean, now disgraced, involved with the Abramoff scandal, in jail -- what are his comments?

TRITA PARSI: Well, I can't speak for him, but I think there may be some indications from him in which he will come out with his side of the story, as well.

Remember HAVA was written in Bob Ney's office (he was Chair of the House Administration Committee) with input from lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

20. Look at this-Robert Gates was also connected to the elections:
I was researching HAVA & Ney and this came up in my old files:

Did you know that Robert Gates was involved in the voting machine industry?
Gates was on the board of directors of VoteHere, a strange little company that was the biggest elections industry lobbyist for the Help America Vote Act (HAVA).
VoteHere spent more money than ES&S, Diebold, and Sequoia combined to help ram HAVA through. And HAVA, of course, was a bill sponsored by by convicted Abramoff pal Bob Ney and K-street lobbyist buddy Steny Hoyer. HAVA put electronic voting on steroids.

You can find copies of the VoteHere lobbying forms here: http://sopr.senate.gov/cgi-win/m_opr_viewer.exe?DoFn=0
(snip)
I first became acquainted with VoteHere when I met a source, Dan Spillane, who is the wonderful guy that identified the Diebold source code modules for me after I found the Diebold files. He is the person who introduced me, and subsequently everyone else, to the odd role of The Election Center and R. Doug Lewis in the elections industry.
Spillane filled me in on The Livingston Group, VoteHere lobbyists, run by Bob Livingston-the fellow that Hustler publisher Larry Flynt outed during the Bill Clinton blow job days. Larry Flynt offered a million dollars to anyone who could out a Republican congressman for adultery, and out popped peccadillos by Livingston.
