5. You and Uncle Josh are a couple of pretty exceptional guys;
I hope you know that! Thanks for the terrific pics! I heard a lot about the invites and the tickets but hadn't seen what they looked like. Makes me feel a little bit like I was there!

9. I should have mentioned my wife Amy too :)
Edited on Fri Jan-23-09 01:35 AM by garybeck
she's the pretty lady in the photos.

she actually carried the kids just as much as Josh and I.

I should mention that at the end I was lagging behind Josh and Amy, and I literally felt like I was going to collapse. My excuse is they had breakfast before we left, Powerbars during the day and I was too tired to eat breakfast and I forgot my powerbar. (actually I did have one with me the whole time but I forgot it was there!)

7. Great pics, great album, great captions, It must have been an incredible experience.
You were so lucky to get such great tickets.
The aerial shots make all the people look like hordes of ants. It is so weird.

Thanks for the picture of the invitation, and the map and arrows to show where you were.

14. actually the subway wasn't completely shut down
most of the stops downtown were "exit only" meaning you could ride the subway into the city, but inside the city you could get off but not on.

I think if they allowed people to ride the subway it would have been completely insane. every train would have been dangerously overfilled, and the stations would be so packed that no one getting off would be able to get on, or even move. i guess it made sense.... i expected to have to walk all the way back, but was really happy when we found a station that was letting people on. the trains were overfilled and you couldn't even turn around inside the station, but it was better than carrying a kid!

18. Thanks so much for sharing these. It makes it human scale.
The 5 year olds were soaking it all in, even if they seemed more interested in the sand.
