The press always seems to be one administration "behind"
Edited on Fri Jan-23-09 07:40 AM by SoCalDem
They laid back on Poppy-Bush1 regarding Iran Contra, so to "make up for it" they came down on Clinton like a sledgehammer...

Then after being so "harsh" , they gave Bush 2 a total pass until he was the lamest of ducks..and even then they acted like guilty schoolkids for "picking on him", and ended up by letting him off easy..

so..

NOW they are back into hyper-slam mode, and are high-fiving each other for being TOUGH on Gibbs & are picking every nit they can find with a guy who's been in office TWO FRIGGING DAYS..:grr:

It makes me want to PUKE every time I hear them falling all over themselves now about how "wrong" everyone was about "the war"..when THEY were the ones with the ratatattat music, and the war banners, and embedding while they played soldier..and had a general-an-hour "expert" on their shows while they played war..

Now they seem to have forgotten that THEY were the ones driving the bus.. they were the ones pulling the white house talking points off the fax & loading them into the teleprompters...

It's just like watching Andrea GREENSPAN acting so naive about all the bad economic stuff, when SHE profited from her husband's inept management of the economy..and yet she's "worried" about Hillary's "husband" and his "deals...

Greenspan lied to us for YEARS, and then bailed out just before the house of cards tumbled..,, and super news-hound, Andrea had NO idea? suuuure..

Edited on Fri Jan-23-09 07:54 AM by madokie
I've turned the tv on a couple times these last few days and she pisses me right the fuck off bigtime with her one sided right wing slant to the news reading.

10. She's always making "pronouncements" about what's the right way
to do things in DC. :puke: Does she not understand that the last election was about changing the way things are done in DC?? :puke:

4. Andrea 'EVERYONE KNEW Plame was CIA because Karl Rove told us to say that' Greenspan?
Of course, she only 'knew' until the case went to court, and then she realized she never knew until she was TOLD everyone knew.

She's a HORRID journalist with immense conflicts of interest - she and Carville were always two people who should NEVER have been tapped for analysis or commentary since their first loyalties were to CRIMINALS.

5. They seemed to be right up to date for Clinton and Gore
In fact, ANY piece of bad news was reported IMMEDIATELY, sometimes even before it was confirmed.

7. The Corporate Media Was Lazy And Got Played Like A Fiddle
Give credit where credit is due. For 25 years, the GOOP had a powerful and effective "message machine". They filled the airwaves and print with all sorts of stereotypes and perjoratives that turned us into dirty fuckin' hippies and anyone who didn't believe in their selfish world as being "unpatriotic". They built places like the AEI that was nothing more than a welfare palace for out of work repugnicans...whose only job was (and is) to be assholes...spin and slime and attack.

The corporate media...especially those in the beltway...consider themselves a special breed. They pretend to be the "gatekeepers" when in essence they suck up to the power...the way to move forward their careers. They strive for the big page one byline...the "scoop", the "official source" that will make them famous...and be damned with double checking or doing any leg work...getting the scoop out is first and foremost...let the others settle things later. The GOOP played right to this attitude...rewarding their pets and banishing the threats (like Helen Thomas).

Mrs. Greenspan sits at the corner of inept journalism and corporate cronyism. She sure didn't marry Al cause he was great looking or a fantastic dancer. Back in the day, they used to call it "sleeping your way to the top".

11. Yep, they rarely cover "problems" that involve anyone in their "family"
and even competitors steer clear, because their parent companies are vulnerable too..
