The one of Bush looking out of his helicopter was almost deja vu ish.

especially poignant for me. I still remember as a smart mouthed kid among a bunch of men who were making some really nasty comments, I expressed support ("I don't blame them"). I can't imagine what they felt Tuesday.

7. Let me tell you the two things I noticed in those beautiful photos

Maybe its my disgust with Bush that caused me to notice these two thing amid those stunning and beautiful photos. Two photos of Bush, one on the steps of the Capital with his wife, the President, and his wife and then the second photo from inside the 'copter as he left the capital.

In the picture on the steps notice that President Obama holds his wifes hand on that cold day. Bush on the on the other hand has his hands deep in his pockets as his wife hangs on his side. I see in that a self-centered bastard.

Here is the thing about the photo of him in the 'copter. I noticed a short time earlier in the day, as he walked through the hallway and out to the stage for the inauguration, that he was wearing that god damned Flag pin in his lapel. Then I notice in the 'copter that the dam thing is gone. Just another prop, discarded the very moment it lost its propaganda value.

What a great observation. Isn't that the truth, everything was for show. I went back and looked at him on the steps with the Obama's and yep that pin is on his coat. Copter pic, it's gone.

These pictures represent very well why I am so grateful that I am able to bear witness to this seminal moment in history. I am hopeful that we can now move forward as a people and a community, with intelligence, reason, compassion and understanding towards a better future for the country and the world. I was very impressed by the photo of 1968 Olympics, Gold Medalist Tommie Smith hugging Bronze Medalist John Carlos. This was the first time I saw this photo, or thought of the effect this must have on them and those who longed for equality for so long. Such a touching group of photos and an amazing graduation day for America.

I still can't believe it even as I see it. I felt a wonderful sense of pride during the Democratic convention coverage when I looked at the participants and saw the mixture of ethnicity displayed and had to scan to see any diversity at the Republican convention. I cried, because I felt at that time, all those people represented what America should stand for and I felt hopeful. I was asked in 1995 while visiting Venezuela why America looks at skin color and I couldn't answer. I felt ashamed. I pray to God my children will grow and live in an America where skin color will no longer matter. With all the mixes of races now, one day America will be shades of pale. God Bless you Mr. President. I will pray for you daily.
