That line is from the film, "Schindler's List", spoken by Oskar Schindler. He goes on to say to Amon Goeth, "That's what the Emperor said. A man steals something, he's brought in before the Emperor, he throws himself down on the ground. He begs for his life, he knows he's going to die. And the Emperor... pardons him. This worthless man, he lets him go."

That's what people don't understand about Israel. They have this weird fixation that Israel is this huge threatening military monster. It has seven million people surrounded by larger nations with ten times the population each. Israel functions as a WEAK nation. Its responses are the responses of a WEAK nation. In International Politics 101 the lesson was that a WEAK nation MUST have an immediate and vindictive response to any incursion. It doesn't have other choices.

What was bizarre was George W. Bush assuming that Israel was using STRONG nation responses. He made the US act the same way, as a WEAK nation. It was the most internationally destructive thing that ever happened to us. We behaved WEAK and the world began to perceive us as WEAK and react accordingly.
