Bush's hissy fit today
Edited on Fri Mar-23-07 08:49 PM by LuckyTheDog
He made a really irresponsible statement when he said that anyone who opposes giving him his way without conditions was betraying the country. To accuse his opponents of being motivated entirely by a desire for "political theater" shows that he learned nothing from his "thumping" last November.

Bush's "my way or the highway" days are over. Time to grow up.

The Dems agreed to give Bush the money. So, they have met him half way. But they attached some strings to ensure that the U.S. taxpayer is not going to keep footing the bill for more failure. That sure seems reasonable to me.

If, as the deadline approaches, Bush feels he needs more time, then he will have the chance to make his case to the Congress and the people. But for now, he should swallow his pride and take what he cab get -- for the good of the country. If he doesn't, then what happens next is his fault.

6. I agree. I only meant in level of paranoia and defensiveness...And at least the Trickster was more
articulate than the Speech-Slurrifier, right up to the end.

Dang, it takes some doing to make Nixon look good, but he's managing to do so, yes?

7. I wonder if Commander Codpiece is
wandering through the WH late at night, talking to paintings of other presidents? Blaming his enemies, and maybe even his friends? He'd be stinking drunk, of course.

3. I'd be more suprised to learn that he writes anything he says
We've all seen the earpiece, and the very careful handling he gets. I'd be surprised if there's a single word that comes out of his mouth other than the "ya see, in Texas we have a" anecdotes.

He's pissed, but he can't handle it, never could. So he's double-pissed that they won't let him "go-off" on those rat bastard traitor media types and liberals, so they promise him a stiff drink if he gets through it while sticking to the plan.

4. Indeed, this is a very astute Dem leadership
Pelosi and Schumer are playing this smart and Bush is really ticked because he's pinned down.

The strategy he's playing is to try to blame democrats for delaying the funding (when actually he is equally or more responsible should he veto this bill) but this approach won't work easily in the face of his declining credibility. Every effort must be made to show that the Democratic limitations are 'reasonable' and that Bush is the one who won't compromise.

I want every day to be more of a nightmare for him than the last. He took what wasn't his. He is a thief and should be punished as a thief.

17. Hope the Democrats challenge his fitness to remain in office
1. Bush refuses to respect separation of powers as proven by his signing statements.

2. Bush has no military expertise. Instead he listens to neocon morons at AEI and then lies to the public claiming their garbage advice is what the Generals in Iraq are telling him.

3. Bush claims to support democracy yet he has championed the use of Executive Branch power to keep information from Congress and the public.

4. Bush suggests that not supporting his policies is the same as not supporting the troops...conflating the corrupt civilian command with the military.

If he refuses to accept anything less than a rubberstamp Congress he should resign.

23. on KO last night, john dean said that *'s manhood was threatened, and, as such, there was NO WAY he
would ever back down. he has always reminded me of someone who is suffering from "short man complex" and overcompensating as a result (and yes, I know he is supposed to be 6 feet--but he always FEELS about 5 ft tall to me)

this is going to get even uglier than anything we have seen so far.

24. Know what I'm sick of?
Edited on Fri Mar-23-07 11:04 PM by Marr
I'm sick of the way right-wing politicians, and Bush/Cheney in particular, make such pointed insults and openly question others' sincerity, while demanding others 'respect the office of the President'. If Bush feels comfortable going on television and putting on the sort of insulting, undignified display he put on today, he should be able to take a little honest criticism.

Perhaps the loyal opposition should stop saying "misled", and start saying "lied".

25. I haven't
forgotten that the Republicans campaign ad in '06 threated the American public with suitcase bomb attacks if they voted for Democrats.

I wish the loyal opposition would challenge Bush's patriotism. What proof is there that he has good intentions?

26. A Poem
"Bush is an ass. Alas."

I really, really wish this were my original work, but it's not. And I can't remember who did write it. But at least I'm not taking undeserved credit for it!

P.S. Do ALL babies cry when Bush touches/holds them? Wouldn't surprise me...
