Freepers are not smart
Warning! Reading beyond this point may damage brain cells.

OK...so 229,216,000 "adults." If we gave EVERYONE in this demographic $1,000,000. Yes, ONE MILLION DOLLARS. It would only add up to 2.3 TRILLION DOLLARS. Less than the 2.5 we're heading for under this administration.

<...>

Have we at least considered this option before we "invest" 2.5 Trillion dollars? If so, then why not?

Is it because liberal democrats gain nothing by allowing the American ingenuity and free market principles out of the shackles, whereas by making the voting public dependent on government (read here, Obama Administration), they secure power for a long long time to come?

I think it is 22.9 Trillion!

If we only counted legal adults I think the math would work. Am I right? Am I right? Buehler...Buehler...

Yeah, I already tried doing this awhile back, but there was too many zero's for me. I also figured if I missed the comma, I would get fried here on FR so I just kept it to myself. I thought of using the scientific calculator in Windows, but lost interest after I couldn't focus on all the zero's. After recounting several times getting different answers each time, I just gave up.

Limbaugh actually mentioned this on his show a week after the election. Said it wouldn’t work for a few reasons. One was that it would remove the incentive to work and to stay produceive for a few people, but the main reason was that it gave too much power to Americans. And the government doesn’t like it when the people have too much power for themselves.

And of course if we excluded the 40% of Americans who don't pay taxes...
And if you exclude those over retirement age...
And if you exclude those in Prison...
And if you exclude those working for the government...
I think the numbers could work!

and that's how all the "rich people"/"CEOs" vote...as opposed to being a bunch of knuckle dragging shit heads who are on the bottom of the social ladder and clinging just above the bottom of the economic ladder.

When Obama was elected one of them claimed he was going to "fire all the liberals". I highly doubt he had any business to speak of...rather like Joe the Plumber. Bunch of phoney wanna be bastards.

The office FReep has had to file bankruptcy twice for buying more on his credit card than he could pay...and then he talks like he knows a thing or two about micro/macroeconomics. The irony escapes him. Kind of like his "protecting marriage" and "baby killing" rants when he was divorced within weeks of his own marriage and has no kids of his own. He does have more guns than anyone I know of though...and only two trigger fingers to use them.

5. The really sad thing...
Somehow, this group of deep thinkers managed to get their corwn prince into power twice...to be perfectly honest, its not the dumbasses who post this kind of comic drivel, or even the fat-ass who spouts it on the airwaves daily that concerns me the most. What keeps me up at night is the powers that be behind these Neanderthals.

Attacking these people - who would be lucky to find their ass with both hands - is akin to clubbing baby seals...we need to be collectively more concerned with the fur traders and not those victimized by their own inante handicaps (a lack of a brain is a terrible thing to exploit)...

11. Here's the easy math.
So, approximately 200 million adults? That's 200 x 10^6.

Give each one million dollars? That's 1 x 10^6.

Multiply (200 x 10^6) by (1 x 10^6) gives you 200 x 10^12.

That's $200 trillion dollars.

Yes, freepers, let's give two hundred million adults each one million dollars. That would just be more than 200 times the amount of this stimulus (when interest and such is factored in).

Real smart.

So instead of $1,000,000 per adult, it is only $10,000 per adult. But I would just say 10^6 rather than 1 x 10^6.

How much does it take to realize that 229 x 106 x 1 x 106 = 229 x 1012 = 229 trillion?

103 = thousand
106 = million
109 = billion
1012 = trillion

It's not rocket science. It's grade school arithmetic.

Liberals only care about how the world sees us. Only us conservatives have the cajones to stand up and demand that our country remains safe from these vermin, world opinion be damned. Stashing these dirtbags in Cuba, instead of on American soil, is the only way to go here. Especially given the fact that putting these detainees here is a security risk to us all. Rather than caring whether or not these detainees get their prescious three meals a day, they deserve to be kept in cages and then killed. So that my children can stay safe from these people who hate our freedom.

Only conservatives can tell it like it is! But we need to hear it from more people than just the great Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity! All people need to know that we are heading down to a socialistic, communistic nation. Maybe it will only sink in after the fact. And then we will only have ourselves to blame!

For 8 years, we had a president who kept us safe. Under Bush, we didn’t have a single terrorist attack after September 11th. Can Obama do the same? Keeping in mind he was best friends with Bill Ayers, a known terrorist who tried to blow up the White House, I don’t think so! Getting through these next four years is going to be tough. Only people like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity will tell us like it is. People have to remain ever vigilant to make sure we don’t become a communistic dictatorship!

Yes, Ann Coulter is the smartest pundit in America. Only she can tell it like it is! Understand that liberals do not get her type of wit or humor. Although I can understand why they are jealous that such a beautiful woman like Ann confuses them so much. Like it or not, she’s going to say what she’s going to say. Learn a lot from her! So that in three years when we are living under a communistic nazi regime thanks to 0bama, you know how to survive. Unless we listen to Ann more often, that is exactly where we are going. Call it like it is, Ann! Keep up the great work!

For some, patriotism is a true calling. Real patriots like Sean stand up for America no matter what. Even when the liberals are at their loudest, Sean doesn’t stop. Everything Sean Hannity says should be repeated to 250 million Americans so they can all get it.

Put the LIEberals in their place, Sean! Everyone needs to know how they hate America! Respect this country or move! Someplace like France, for instance! Hell, I’ll be happy to pay for their plane tickets!

And we need Sean now more than ever! Very often, the word “great american” is overused. Encourage this word to be used to people like Sean and Rush. Stop the LIEberals attempt to shut them down in the Fairness Doctrine. Help support Sean’s Freedom Concerts!

If we allow LIEberals to silence Sean Hannity, America loses. To think what would we do without the information they provide us every day?

Follow the example of Ronald Reagan and protect our freedom! Or else watch 0bama take away your money and guns! Respect our freedom from paying taxes! Build up the free market economy. Really, these are the things that Sean Hannity tells me when I listen to him on a daily basis. And I too want to thank him for that. I think people like Sean Hannity come around once in a lifetime. Now the LIEberals want to take him away. Stop them before it is too late!

Can we all agree that Rush is the most important American since Abraham Lincoln? He’s not afraid to tell it like it is, no matter what the drive by media will mock him for it. Even after he lost his hearing, he still has not given up in pursuit of freedom in America.

Now the LIEberals and 0bama want to silence Rush through the Fairness Doctrine. Every time a conservative makes it big on radio they want to shut him down. Yet no one on radio wants to listen to LIEberals. Is that a coincidence or just the sad truth?

So I am very worried for Rush these days. Every day I listen to him I worry it would be his last day before the LIEberals shut him down. Voices like his are what this country needs. If Rush gets shut down, then the terrorists and communists win. LIEberals would love that.

America is Rush Limbaugh. Never should we allow him to be silenced. Don’t think that the LIEberals wouldn’t try to do it though.

Bush kept us safe and cut our taxes. Under 0bama, he will free the terrorists so they can go and cut peoples heads off. Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh point out these “inconvenient truths” every day. Heartless DEMONcrats take issue with that and want to quiet the truth. If you think they aren’t going to do it, think again.

So I’m scared about what 0bama will do to Rush. Don’t put your guard down. Unless we hang together, we will all hang seperately. Maybe America will wake up and listen to this wise man every afternoon before it is too late. Before 0bama lets the terrorists and communists win.

50. no, it was sort of an inside joke
In the movie the Breakfast Club, the math geek admits that he could not make a ceramic lamp, and so he is failing shop. As a math geek myself, I still respect people who can fix cars or do plumbing work or carpentry even though I can calculate circles around them. As Bender said "without lamps, there'd be no light". There are other kinds of skills besides math skills. Further, in the 24 years since I graduated from the University with a Bad Attitude in math, society has clearly demonstrated that they do NOT value higher math capabilities (except perhaps in the war machine, where I was first hired as a mathematician and then put to work writing accounting programs).

Finally, I am sure that there have been DUers who demonstrated some lack of ability in both math and reasoning. It's not really fair to pick out 5 or six of the dumbest posts on DU and say "DUers are stupid".

43. Freepers aren't really comfortable with Arabic numerals
so this 'multiplying by powers of 10' concept doesn't come easily to them. I mean, since when have they trusted anything with 'Arab' in the name?

Note that the poster's excuse was "I must have used Excel wrong". See, 'Excel' comes from a Latin word, so they're much happier entrusting all the difficult math to a product from a big corporation that alludes to the days of slavery and gladiator fights. It gives them a warm, fuzzy feeling down there.
