Boycott??

I never believed I would feel this way.
Background. I had my apendix burst last June and frankly cannot pay for the Hospital stay all at once. I cannot even afford to pay at the rate they demand. SO I have been placed in collections.
Coupled to that I am still paying my fathers Hospice cost as they forbid him to take his own life or live with me. 2 years at $180 per day.

I find it incredibly annoying to receive collection calls from persons who
1)have a rudeementary grasp of english.
2) no idea that in our culture alternative ways of payment can be implemented. (I have lots of equity in both propertys. a contractors lean is the way I have to go.) yet they have no understanding of the concept.

3) the choice is payment their way or lawsuit.
4) I find it infurating that in my younger day when I was in need of extra scratch I would become a Collection agent!
as those Jobs have been OUTSOURCED. I find myself wanting to boycott any and all Bill collectors that utilize Outsourced collection agents.
As I am starting to tell the agents that I refuse to pay this particular Bill as outsourcing helped create this economic mess.
It used to be you could negotiate with the collectors. yet the collectors (I am assuming they are calling from India) have no idea of negotiation. OR that Americans are Going Broke and do not have the dollars to pay what ever bill they are collecting about. One even said to me "All Americans are rich, why dunt you be honorable and pay this bill?"
I wanted give her an economics lesson. But just hung up on her instead.


Who is with me? Boycott outsourced Bill collectors!

1. why not boycott the hospital that put you in this situation in the first place?

Did they even try to help you get some sort of aid to pay your bill? Did they tell you about the Hill/Burton act?
