I think Bill Maher is funny, and quite often, spot on with his criticisms of Democrats.

I've read a good bit of criticism towards Democrats here on DU, it seems unfair to dislike Maher for such sentiments.

Contrast him, with say, Dennis Miller who has become a kiss-up to the administration and is completely off the mark and unfair in his vitriol towards Democrats.

In response to the issue of whether people in Iraq have been made angry by the U.S. presence, he says "they" were already angry in Moslem communities in Europe. He acts as though Arabs are of one mind and all one group who think and feel exactly alike. They are "those people". Again, he repeated this somewhat racist sentiment when he said that Iraqis are both happy we removed Saddam and unhappy we removed him. I imagine that there are SOME Iraqis who are angry and SOME who are happy. They don't all think with one mind. There are many religious and ethnic minorities involved. But Frum, like Bush and the rest of the shitheads who got us into this mess still lump them all together and seem to think that one solution, Bush's solution will solve problems that only Iraqis can solve among themselves.

it was POWERFULLY written, and emotionally presented by Maher; the most authentic I think I've ever seen him present. He's not much of an actor, so this was his REAL voice, from the heart, worth seeing, as well as reading

The show is on right now as a replay, and I highly recommend anybody who's got access to it now to check it.
