The Pentagon Report on the released Gitmo Prisoners is just too convenient
It seems be a purposeful power play by the hard liner neo-cons in the Pentagon.

I don't get TV anymore but watched on-line both Faux and MSNBC (Alex dim-Wit) push this
story at least 5 times an hour and then siting public opinion polls and other debunked claims.

Also there was no reporting on the 'NO-records' for Gitmo detaines and the falsehoods
that parts of the Pentagon report are bogus.

I think it will take a long time to clean out those in the Pentagon who have their own agenda.

Kennedy and Clinton both inherited bad policy choices initiated by previous Republican governments
which they had to deal with.

Anyway just an observation.

2. Yet it makes Bush look bad
He's the one who released all those prisoners, not Obama.

Still, this proves how iomportant it is to get rid of all the mid and low level neo-cons at the Pentagon, even if civil service laws have to be stretched to do it.

3. I agree it makes Bush look bad to rational listeners .... but they weren't pushing that point
this morning and never said a word about it.

We know that Defense has been running the show and reaping the money and power
for years, that's why I think Obama left Gates in for the intern. The State Dept became a Nanny
to the Defense department's needs.

I even suspect the missile attacks in Pakistan as part of this scenario.

4. I'm waiting until even one reporter asks the question...
...why is it we didn't learn until now about all these released Gitmo prisoners who joined up with Al Qaeda?

They were in fact released during Bush's term, but nobody made an issue of it until the minute Obama signed the order to clsoe Gitmo.

Of course, the reporters won't ask it, because it makes them look bad, for missing the story at the time it happened.

5. This is soooooooooo obvious. The problem is that this BS could make
an negative impact on the torture issue. It needs to be totally driven home that WAR CRIMES need to be PROSECUTED and that Cheney, Bush and Rumsfeld are WAR CRIMINALS.

8. What I saw this morning were the same talking points from both networks
Same videos, same talking points and the same fear mongering, I could
hardly tell which channel was which.

Out of all the corrupt and impregnated departments, Defense is the worse
and the biggest. Rumsfeld's tentacles are still there.

6. What's worst is that Al Qaeda released their
tape as well.

It's all a game and we're being played. I suspect there has been a military coup and no one told us.

9. my DU posts on this issue
I think Keith got some good fact checkers or some fact checking specialist to look into this and the Pentagon's claims have a lot of variation in them over time. Making up complete bullshit as they go along kind of variation.

Are we going to continue to let MSM broadcast PROPAGANDA without challenge? Like I've read in other DU posts; MSM is losing revenue because they have no credibility. America needs news, not stenographers! And the press has a Constitutionally defined role in our Democracy. An example of yet another institution failing we the people!
