Shout out - are there any investment specialists on board?
I need some advice. Honest advice.
If I go to my brokerage firm, they will try to sell me.
I don't want to be sold, I want advice.

1. There are some folks here on this board. Ask your questions and hopefully they will come. NT

4. Me too. I want to know If I should cash in my 401K at work or move it
to something else. I have lost a lot of money. I was hoping if the economy turns around that it might come back. Am I pissing in the wind? I need real advice if their is someone here that knows.

5. I've lost 1/2 of it.

And the thing that really sux for me is that I retired from a bank.
Do I wait it out or do I take my loses before they get worse.

I am sick. 25 years of putting up with corporate bs, and now this.

Where did you work at?

7. Actually, you have lost nothing until you cash-out or move it
You had X shares of whatever before things went south, and you still have X shares. "Paper" loss is not the same as actual loss.

Unless you are planning to retire within the next five to seven years, you are much better off keeping things where they are.

8. Speaking as a licensed broker...
It would actually be a violation of federal and state regulations to give tailored advice without actually meeting with you and noting your unique financial specifics. Generalized advice, like I gave above, is ok because it is not specific to any one person.
