Eisenhower building near White House evacuated
Nice...wonder what the previous occupants shoved up the chimney.

Washington fire officials say the Eisenhower Executive Office Building near the White House was evacuated briefly after smoke from a fireplace clouded one of the floors.

(snip)

Fire spokesman Alan Etter says firefighters extinguished a fire in a fireplace on the second floor. They believe an obstruction in a chimney caused light smoke to build up on the fourth floor. No damage was reported.

The Secret Service evacuated the building for about 30 minutes as a precaution. There were a few people inside the building, which houses White House staff.

2. Either that or the building code is as "updated" as the IT
Or it's someone from the previous admin sneaking their way back into the building a la Santa Clause.

5. A federal office with a functioning fireplace, now nice.
I wonder which job series it is that finds itself delivering the firewood, or more to the point I wonder what the contract for firewood delivery looks like.

6. Doesn't this building have a history of fire/smoke-related evacuations?
At least when Dumbass was occupying?

I could have sworn there was another story about the fireplaces at the Eisenhower Building.
