Is Boehner the new Newt?
Everywhere I look on tv, I see his whining red face and I am starting to worry. Is Boner the New Newt?

Should we be worried about his constant bitching, moaning, crying, and tantrum throwing?

1. He is the front man and I will bet will be running for Prez-yikes!
Do not like him at all.He has an uncooperative nature about him and seems untrust-worthy.

15. boehner re-election
I live in Boehner's district, that is largely low-to-middle
class including the rust belt cities of Middletown/Hamilton OH
and poor rural areas. He is always re-elected with a huge
plurality (over 75%), but not this past time. Running against
a 26 yr-old no-name with no money, Boehner only received 61%
of the vote. If he doesn't get on the bandwagon to help low
and middle income people have jobs and to stop favoring the
upper brackets, he'll probably also go out the same way as
Gingrich, in defeat. The local Democratic party is working to
put someone more credible on the ticket next time, so Boehner
is quite vulnerable.

3. I'm sure he thinks he is
but with the mood of the country right now I can't see him having that kind of success... Newt rose to power while the Reagan-era lie about "Government is the Problem" and "Supply Side & Laissez Faire economics" had not been widely refuted...

After 8 years of Bush, what with every kind of failure imaginable, from Katrina to two wars to the economic meltdown, the country will not blindly listen to those messages.

6. No. Newt came to power after Clinton had some failures
such as health care. Obama has more public support then Clinton did at the beginning of his presidency and Bush II was much worse then Bush I.

10. Considering that Newt is on a bullet train to irrelevance, let's hope so.
I think Boehner is there by default - because Newt has enough marbles to realize that he doesn't want the mess the Republican Party is in.

13. He's a pretty pathetic version of Newt, if that's what he aspires to be
Newt had a genuine following and led an ideological revolution. A loathesome and mean-spirited revolution, nonetheless, but still a major accomplishment.

Boehner is more like a whiny brat who throws tantrums to get attention.
