Caroline Kennedy Would've been a terrible choice.
If she got knocked down so quickly and easily, she would've been taken out in 2010.

1. Thank you. I was going to just post the same thing.
All this kvetching about Paterson's choice is ridiculous to me. She was obviously not qualified and would not have served the people of New York well.

2. I agree
It takes thick skin and a good resume to be in that position.

I am sure Caroline is a fine and wonderful person, just not who I would want as a Senator.

3. She was a bad choice regardless of 2010 potential

4. I don't know if terrible, but she certainly would not have been anywhere near the best.
She had the name and a faint reflection of bygone glory days, but a lightweight resume and an apparent sense of entitlement for the position. It would have been interesting if this had been a special election to see if she would have entered then when things would get down and dirty.

5. I'm relieved that this is over
and I'm rather satisfied with the outcome. If Gillebrand is an obstacle on the way to progress, I'll have a chance to do something about it next year.

6. "Terrible" might be overstating it, but...
I think a good choice was made and Gillibrand is far better suited for the job.

(This seems to be the minority view around here, but that's my story and I'm stickin' to it)

7. The only thing she had going for her was her name.
After that, the others were better.
