6. I still think that we can't know about Gore.
Edited on Sat Mar-24-07 11:12 AM by NastyDiaper
If he were in a campaign, everything he says would be received differently.

I'll do the only thing I can do. Pledge support if he chooses to run, but in the end choose the best name that appears on the primary list.

What scares me is Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton. I want a candidate that will rescind unrightful executive power, not lap it up and ask for more.

With close seconds in mind, I went DK.

7. Bill R.
I'm getting a little pissy about the whole thing, and I want something new.

I don't want a Southerner, I don't want an Easterner. That pretty much leaves Bill Richardson. His experiences kind of sway the vote for me.

9. I think Obama
and Richardson are our best hopes for winning back the White House. I would also like Clark if he declared. I think all three could pull the necessary number of independent votes to win. I also think DU in general underestimates Obama's appeal.

11. Gore
Until it is the last possible minute and Gore isn't running, I'm holding out to decide on someone else. I want him as our next president and I am praying on a daily basis that that comes to fruition.

Yes I know what some of you will say.......but I still have time to hope and that is what I choose to do.

13. In light of Richardson's support for Abu Gonzales and Bush's right to appoint this creep, I can't
believe Richardson still has ANY support here:

Question:
Alberto Gonzalez happens to be a member of your community. Is this guy
gonna survive? He's the first Hispanic to have that job.

Richardson: Yeah, I know. I'm rooting for him, I like the guy, I know him. I hope he survives....

Question: It occurs to me now, listening to you talk about your friend who you know, Mr. Gonzalez, it draws a stark contrast between—I haven't checked where all the other candidates are, but I know Obama is on record very clearly saying Gonzalez should step down. I suspect other Democrats running for president are maybe saying the same thing. That's a contrast between you and others on whether or not this guy should step down.

Richardson: That's right. I do believe that it's up to a president to make those decisions about Cabinet members. Obviously, Alberto's very damaged, and he's gotta be frank and testify
and do what has to happen. But I think that's up to the president.

Question: So you would not call for his stepping down right now.

Richardson: No, no. And you know what? Part of it maybe is because he's the highest-ranking Hispanic ever.

Question: But wrongdoing is wrongdoing, though. If he did wrong.

Richardson: Well, I think it's more a lack of attention, lack of a plan, lack of being thorough. He's too much the president's lawyer. He's too much of a political person. And I recognize that. ... I've had conversations with him on immigration. I thought he was very competent. ... But I just think, Tavis, that this is a presidential decision. You can pick your Cabinet. And if somebody's not performing, let him go.

16. Candidates
What we need is someone who could unite the country. The actions of Bush have divided the country as much as the Vietnam war did, probably more. During Vietnam, most of us believed we were preventing Communists from taking over all of Southeast Asia, today we are fighting a war that has no cause. If Hillary is elected, she would be a good President, but she is too polarizing. Obama is too inexperienced, and his Muslim background, however sketchy, would prevent many from voting for him. I believe Richardson, with his experience, would be the most acceptable to independent voters. Clark or Edwards would also be good choices.

26. I love him too..he is my choice and was in 2004, just wondering if people have finally
seen his true person, or if they are giving him their vote for now, and will move on later. I hope they stick with him, he is a good man.
