15. You know - I don't think I am very patriotic.

Don't get me wrong, I've lived in other countries and I prefer living in the US. I like Americans. I like how open and humorous they are. I like interstate highways with rest stops and large grocery stores where you can buy almost anything. I like how our houses have a lot of bathrooms. I like American football and basketball and AAA (Adult Album Alternative) radio stations. I like the fantastic National Parks we have. I like the quick service you get in the United States and how you can ask for strange modifications to what's on the menu without anyone giving you grief. I like how Americans don't say something should be done a certain way because "it's our culture to...". If someone has a better way, most of us will change our habits in a heartbeat. I like how even though Americans may not like what you say, they respect your right to say it. I like the bill of rights, which I've come to think is fairly unique in the world. Yes, I quite like it here.

(Of course our country is not perfect and has a lot of problems, but I also like how most Americans know that and strive to make it better.)

But, I'm getting the feeling "Patriotic" means supporting the Republican party - right or wrong. I mean, we are supposed to give our President total support, as if he were ordained by God himself, but only Republican Presidents. If the President is a Democrat, then clearly supporting him is UNPATRIOTIC! The same with congress, supporting a Republican Congress is Patriotic, especially when they are impeaching someone for "disgracing" the office of the President. Supporting a Democratic Congress is unpatriotic. So, I don't really think I am very patriotic.
