Can the GOP be any more fucking SEXIST and RACIST?
Hillary Clinton runs for the Democratic nomination, and what is the GOP's response? They trot out Sarah Palin for their VP slot, someone whose only qualifications are that she's a woman just like Hillary. "See, we're progressive also, we're trying to put a woman in the White House" is what they said.

Now that Obama has been elected President, what does the GOP do? Not less than two weeks after taking office, they trot out yet another minor political figure, Michael Steele, to be their party chairman.

It's pretty fucking obvious what the GOP is doing. They do not give a flying FUCK about Palin and Steele. These are merely knee-jerk reactions, an obvious copy-cat move on their part. "Look, we got a woman VP candidate" and "Look, we have a black chairman" - that's all the GOP is trying to say now. We all know by now how much most of the rank-and-file GOP loathed Palin, and you know that many of them are probably seething at the thought of putting a black man in charge. This is ONLY for appearances. This is the very definition of the term "token representation".

America soundly rejected Sarah Palin, I have no doubt they will reject this newest obvious grab for attention.

2. Steele's 'campaign' was not easy.
I don't think 'they' intended to do this.

Please stop using the f*** word; it has no meaning any more.

4. It's how I talk.
Sorry if you don't like it. I have to disagree, it's such a versatile word. George Carlin had a wonderful routine about it.

3. This is the kind of thing you do when your ideology assumes the public is stupid.
They pander like this because they assume people are stupid cattle.

7. Don't forget about Alan Keyes. When Obama was running in IL for senate, they brought out Keyes.

She is wingnut catnip. But I agree, and what you are saying was the first thing I thought of when Steele was announced. Its not like the GOP is going to change from being a party where people who are disgusted by blacks, gays, latinos, non-christians, etc congregate and try to legislate their bigotry and force it on others. THey are just putting window dressing on. Its like putting a new coat of paint on a house that is rotten inside. THe base of the GOP will still be white southerners who are only republicans because they are upset about the civil rights movement in the 1960s, but now they have a black guy as their head to distract low information voters from that fact.

Sad part is most people are so poorly informed that it might work.

Seriously though, how can any self respecting black person be a republican? I can understand black libertarians, but not black republicans. Don't they know about the southern strategy (encourage racial tension in the south in the hopes that the white voters become republicans in disgust over black rights, and as of 2008 about 65-90% of white southerners are republicans)? Ronald Reagan (the GOP hero) gave his first speech as a presidential candidate near Philadelphia mississippi talking about states rights, basically giving a wink and a nudge to the people who killed 3 civil rights workers and saying 'I'm on your side'. And what the fuck do they think all that 'welfare queen in a cadillac' or 'tough on crime' shit was about? Who do people like Steele and Blackwell think the GOP were trying to deny government help to and sic the police on?

So the GOP consists of bigoted white people from small towns and a handful of self hating minorities as window dressing to distract from that fact. Good luck.

10. I fucking hate them.
I have never hated another group of "people" more.

Every day I worry that I cannot afford toilet tissue. Or not having a job.

I cannot even imagine what people are facing in the real conditions.
