1. You'd think Republicans would love the college football system.
Isn't it exactly the way they want to rule this country? You know, give power to a select few and allow it to trickle down to other non-powerful programs? It's Reaganomics!

6. I agree that the system needs to be changed
I despise those who use the words "Un-American" at the drop of a hat, however. There are millions of Americans who don't like football, are they "Un-American" too? Who f'ing cares?

7. This is what Hatch really said.
http://www.deseretnews.com/article/1,5143,705281506,00.html

He called the Bowl Championship Series of college football "un-American."

He didn't call the whole college football system "un-American" (whatever that means).

Maybe we need a House Un-American Athletics Committee (HUAC) to institute a brand-new witch hunt.

11. He's right. The BCS is a joke.
Of course, he's bent out of shape because Utah had a perfect season but didn't get a sniff at the championship game.

Argh. I agree with Orrin Hatch on something.

13. Same here -- never thought I'd see eye-to-eye with Orrin Hatch on anything...
But the BCS is ridiculous. The obsession over having a rock-solid, cast-iron, Number One team standing at season's end has caused nothing but discord and upset.

14. Indeed.
The "Bullshit Championship Series" is a joke.
