This should scare the dickens out of every American worried about an attack on Iran...
Alejandro D. Wolff, the acting U.S. Representative to the United Nations, said after today's unanimus vote of the Security Council to imposed new sanctions against Iran:

"While we hope that Iran complies with this resolution ... the United States is fully prepared to take additional measures in 60 days should Iran choose another course."

******************

How should we interpret 'take additional measures in 60 days' ???

And why did the U.S. Representative to the United Nations feel it necessary to make this statement?

With the seizure of the 15 Brit soldiers, the ordering of new sanctions against Iran today by the UN, and the US ships and troops waiting offshore Iran, this should ratchet up the fear index.

3. Can you say, "total world meltdown"?
Because that's exactly what a war with Iran would bring. I hope calmer heads prevail.

If BUSH were to say "60 days", you could bet it would happen much sooner than that. He's not one to wait for official time-lines and such. He's a real, "ready....shoot....aim", kinda' guy. :eyes:

13. some time around May 22
if I counted correctly. Pushing their luck aren't they... just in time for summer in the Middle East. Iran, hot and mostly above 3000' elevation. Lived there for a year, so I know.

5. It just strikes me as a preview of coming attractions....
He did not have to make such a statement, especially just after the UN Security Council had just unanimously voted to impose stiffer sanctions on Iran.

Since I am helpless to do anything about it other than pray, I will just pretend it isn't happening.

8.  "should Iran choose to take another course "
This is the statement that troubles me . What do they mean by another course ? What qualifies their definition here , what they hold the brits too long and the bombing begins or they forge against the sanctions .

9. We are already invading their waters
Us, and the Brits. I even read somewhere that price of oil went up based on the aforementioned.

We are just testing the waters, so to speak, now. I am fully expecting an outright invasion shortly.

Is there any way we can stop this? I surely hope so.

18. Some Iranians were taken in a US raid in Iraq back in January (I think that was when it was)
They're trying to barter their release by using the Brits.

11. 'should Iran choose another course' most likely means ...
Iran does not voluntarily give up its nuclear enrichment program.

The sanctions by the UN all address this one issue.

12. We already know
Iran is not about to give up their nuclear program and this appears to be the powder keg ready to blow . Bush will keep driving this as the focus point until he finally gets his attack .

16. Maybe happening sooner than later...
Ahmadinejad wanted to speak before the UN before this vote went down. The US was able to delay giving him a visa and went ahead and rammed through a vote.

Things could be getting hot soon.
As Andy Card said, "...you don't introduce new products in August".

Angry Iran reduces nuclear access --BBC 25 March 2007 19:24 GMT

Iran's government says it will reduce cooperation with United Nations nuclear inspectors in response to new sanctions imposed by the UN Security Council.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said separately that the sanctions were illegal and Iran would not stop its nuclear work "even for one second".

The sanctions block Iranian arms exports and freeze assets of anyone involved in nuclear and missile work.

Iran denies seeking nuclear weapons, insisting its work is peaceful.
