So many "morans", so little trophies.... This week we are awarding one Globall Moran Trophy.

Drumroll please....



The Globall Moran Trophy is awarded to THE REPUBLICAN PARTY .

After reaching out the hand of bi-partisanship, negotiating, and compromises with the Economic Stimulus Bill - the House Republicans, in lock-step, voted against it. On the Senate side, Republicans are already indicating they plan to vote against it.

The House Republicans demanded taxcuts for the Stimulus Bill. Tax cuts were added - and they voted against it.
The House Republicans complained the funding for infrastructure projects was too high. Funding for infrastructure projects was lowered. The House Republicans are now complaining the funding for infrastructure projects is too low.
(Bit of a Goldilocks syndrome going on?)

7. they are obstructionists just for the sake of being obstructionists

. . . it makes them feel "manly" to appear unwilling to go along with ANYthing proposed by a Democrat. Remember their hero W's stubbornness and "stay the course" attitude and how that rigid, unthinking, short-sighted, unintrospective attitude was somehow praise-worthy? Only those with undeveloped, lower-level cognitive processes (a hallmark of the reptilian repuke mindset) would consider that "a good thing."

I liked Stephen Colbert's solution: the stimulus package should apply only to congressional districts that voted for it. All others, keep your crumbling roads, lack of jobs, and foreclosed houses. Then see who gets re-elected.
