Senator Hutchinson finally said something I agree with "the $500 tax cut didnt work". No shit sherlock!
The stimulus package has $225Billion (or so) for tax cuts. I would rather this goes into job creation. Or maybe give me a credit card with $1000 that can be used to purchase something instead of paying bills.
Personally I say keep the damn tax cuts, cut the tax cuts for the weathly, and put the money into job creation.

3. Agree! Being able to buy one hamburger a month (about what tax cut give me) |
|
is NOT help. Having all who want to work making a living wage and knowing they have a future to save for, now THAT would accomplish something!

4. Correct and so does the rest of the trading world as 50 million jobs |
|
...have been wiped out in the past 13 months and over $30 trillion in wealth has just disappeared.
Jobs, fiscal spending and long range investments for the next two and a half generations (50 years) must begin now and the whole world must benefit from the new production and wealth creation, not just an ultra wealth few.

6. Barny Frank said it best this morning. |
|
Tax cuts never built a bridge. They also never improved education, reduced births for teenage mothers, etc. Tax cuts only make rich people richer since the poor people don't pay taxes to begin with. Poor people need jobs and so do the people in the middle class.

14. And remember what Bush said; "it's pointless to raise taxes on the wealthy |
|
because the wealthy don't pay taxes to begin with".

It isn't easy to see your tax cut month to month. I would rather see construction projects personally. I would like people to start building again just smarter. Less McMansion more green modest homes please.

13. Exactly. Moody's just came out with a report saying that unemployment |
|
benefits and food stamps would do far more for the economy than tax cuts, so let's put those hundreds of billions into something that actually gets money MOVING.

the tax cuts are only for the wealthy. trickle down and all of that. Also, please note how the wall street bonuses are being referred to as "economic stimulus" for New York. Gotta love that meme.
I wonder just how much they think we're going to take of this BULLSH8T?
WE kinda clued in to these failed policies and I believe we made our feelings known on Nov 4.
Did I miss something?

17. The business sector needs |
|
to bear more of the tax burden. Unfortunately, they can't stay competitive while paying for health care and paying taxes. Yet another reason for single payer health care.
