Repuke ("talking head" on cable news /Abramoff crony) pleads guilty to bribery
http://trailblazersblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2009/01/the-abramoff-conspiracy-a-dall.html

The never-ending, Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal netted another guilty plea on Friday. Todd A. Boulanger pleaded guilty to paying for trips, sports tickets and meals for Senate aides in exchange for favorable legislation.

Boulanger is a young and fashionable lobbyist who appeared on MSNBC and Fox as a Republican talking head during last year's presidential campaign. He was registered to lobby for Dallas-based Hunt Consolidated on executive compensation issues in 2008, when he worked for Cassidy & Associates, according to the Senate Office of Public Records.

A Hunt spokeswoman tells the DMN that the Dallas company worked only with Dawn Levy, a senior vice president at the lobbying firm, and didn't know Boulanger. A Cassidy spokesman echoes this, adding that Boulanger was only registered on the quarterly forms "out of careful prudence."

Todd Boulanger, the fashion-forward former lobbyist and Jack Abramoff crony who was indicted earlier this week for bribing government aides, has pleaded guilty, reports the Associated Press.

Boulanger has been cooperating with the investigation, according to his lawyer. Under the terms of his plea deal, prosecutors are recommending that he spend 18-24 months in prison, with reduced time if he continues to cooperate.

Boulanger was an aide to Sen. Bob Smith, a New Hampshire GOPer, before working with Abramoff as a lobbyist.

Court documents suggested that Boulanger and other members of Team Abramoff had schemed to provide a staffer to Mississippi senator Thad Cochran with tickets for concerts, ice skating, and other events.
