It's like watching a car wreck - you just can't look away.

Ted Haggard and his wife - who tells Oprah Winfrey they had an "amazing" sex life by the way - pay a visit to Oprah. Haggard shows the world what self-loathing and shame can do to a person's life.

He's a pathetic man.

NO FRIGGING WAY.

He may be gay or bi or "straight with issues" or anything else he wants to claim, but when someone is in a relationship, you DO NOT CHEAT. Ever. There is NO excuse for that. It is so disrespectful to one's partner.

He is a man far more pathetic than I could ever hope to be. I don't do drugs. I may make jokes, but I don't use prostitutes. Why does he think he had to?

You're right; he is an asshole.

I'm surprised she didn't divorce him; as much as divorce is a nasty process, infidelity is a valid reason to do so. I can't think of too many things worse than that.

To make matter worse his "community" finally allowed him to have his house back after claiming he was a heterosexual.

I don't think his coming out has been all that easy. Imagine having your wife and kids lose the place where they live because of it?

I don't think this guy is going to remain closeted for all that much longer.

6. I don't watch Oprah,

but I was told that Haggard was going to be on, so I tuned in.

It was mesmerizing. Denial, lies, dissembling, and more denial.

What finally did it for me, though, was Oprah's voice-over at the end of the show - an addendum regarding the latest allegations about Haggard and a young male parishoner - she said that Haggard told her that he had deliberately not discussed this matter because he "wanted to protect the young man's privacy."

Right. After the young man had already come out in public.

Haggard - and his wife, who is nothing but an enabler - should just disappear from public view. He's less than worthless, and so is she.

I feel so sorry for their children.
