RFID driver's license question
Will merchants in Washington State be able to read the name of every carrying a driver's license and match it to their purchases even if they pay in cash?

1. Yip, if the technology is offered for sale
In casinos now, when they swipe your ID, they show a screen that shows all of your info on the screen. RFID will just make it easier to do this surreptitiously.

3. Only if they have a low frequency scanner (30ft. range)

to capture your info even if it is in your wallet, so I doubt that would happen. However, some stores are now demanding that they be able to run your DL if you return a cash purchase, but you can refuse and opt for asking for a print out to sign your name, address, telephone number. Since it was a cash purchase return, you can write Daffy Duck and the store's address and phone number on it if you want. They are just trying to shortcut entering the data of returned merchandise.

4. Why do you doubt that chain stores would get low frequency scanners...
...to record the identity of customers?
