I propose we start a DU CSPAN task force

I'm watching it right now and they just had 2 segments with these total corporate tools spouting bullshit propaganda. The first was some asshat from CNBC defending Wall Street. The second was a douche from the Federal Reserve bank blaming Fannie/Freddie for the mortgage crisis and handwringing over "protectionism" and the spending in the stimulus package. They were prerecorded so I couldn't call in but the people who did call were OWNING both of them. They sounded like DUers. It was very refreshing. I know a lot of y'all watch it and call in but it's obvious that the wingnuts get their talking points and it's an organized effort with them. I just think it's especially important with this stimulus package in the air to rebut these corporatist asswads.

1. It was a fond hope of mine to do this by topic with LTTE during some dark Bush days.

It's hard to organize. However, if you could get a loose coaltiion to take days/times they were available to make the calls and spend time holding on the line, it would be a good idea. Problem is, most people on DU work and can't spend the time necessary on the phone.

I'm retired so I'm probably a good candidate but I'm not an expert on anything so I could offer my opinion but perhaps not adequately rebut some of these RW misstatements. I notice that many DUers can and do and I learn a lot from them...

4. That's the tricky part. You're supposed to wait 30 days between calls

I'm unemployed right now so I'm putting in a lot of couch time in my PJs. I'm also in the West so Washington Journal is a bit early for me. But I could set my alarm. I know there's a lady who watches it and posts every morning. That thread might be a good place to start. We just have got to get more folks like those of us on DU to call in and call these asshats on their bullshit.

2. As a day time viewer (particularly winter time) I think its a great idea

Sometimes just a little bit of coordination, or just dialing banks if you will, can go a long way toward keeping the record set straight or just getting it upright in the first place.
